View of MK worth it?

We just stayed at the CR for a week, 12th floor, castle view and WOW!!! Every night (when we weren't still out!) seeing the fireworks, watching the castle change colors. Even most mornings we were awake early enough and the castle would still be lit up, my daughter's would like to get a glimpse of the castle when they woke in the morning.
Arriving on our first day, walking out to the balcony and seeing the Magic Kingdom for the first time ever... my girls loved it.
I did tell them not to get used to it, this was a trip given to my daughter from a wish organization, and if we went badk to WDW we wouldn't be able to stay there again.
I'll see if I can insert a pic of our view....ok I have no idea how to insert a picture.......sorry.
Yes, it's worth it if you can, it really made our trip extra special.

Worth it!

Some people don't think a view of any kind in any location is worth the money because they think they don't spend enough time in their room. All I can say is spend the money and enjoy the view. There is nothing like seeing the castle from your window change colors at night and all the beautiful sounds and sights of the park. And you spend more time in your room than you think....espically when you have a great room with a beautiful room!

The best is when you get a room where you can see tha castle from your bed! When the lights are off in your room and you open the curtains, the view is unbelieveable. It's definately worth it.

Hi - I would say much depends on whether or not your 10-year-old is all that interested in the view (and you, too!). I thought my then 5-year-old DD would love it, and she seemed to at first, but she actually wasn't as excited as I was when I first looked out the doors (I actually screamed a little  ). We stayed at the CR only because we made the plans on short notice, and a tower room at the CR was pretty much the only affordable deluxe resort room available. We requested an MK view and I explained that our DD was turning 5 during the trip, and the CM at the front desk truly enjoyed informing us that we had a room on the 11th floor and we'd love the view - well, he was right! Although the general theming isn't our favorite, we're glad we tried something different and it was the best view we've ever had! Here it is by day:

We just returned from the CR, MK view about 1 month ago. Our view was exactly the same as PHYLLIS 1966 posted.
DS (7) requested that we stay here, and he was more than thrilled with the view from the room. He loved to wake up every morning and see the castle, monorails and Space Mountain, as well as hearing the whistles from the train. We would watch the fireworks from the room when we were there also. As someone stated, it is also the parking lot view also. The traffic at times was loud at night and the MK train whistle woke us up every morning around 6-7 am, but it was so worth it. We were on the 11 th floor.
We are planning our trip for next September and I asked DS, where do you want to stay? He said , CR, castle view please!

I haven't stayed at the CR before but I have to say, the view on that pic looks amazing.

For my trip, I could only get lagoon view poly, no other views available and like you, I wondered if it was worth the extra. I'm planning to watch the fireworks from the balcony etc, and eat breakfast there also.

If you're spending time looking at the view, and you enjoy doing so, I think it would be worth it.
