We just stayed at the CR for a week, 12th floor, castle view and WOW!!! Every night (when we weren't still out!) seeing the fireworks, watching the castle change colors. Even most mornings we were awake early enough and the castle would still be lit up, my daughter's would like to get a glimpse of the castle when they woke in the morning.
Arriving on our first day, walking out to the balcony and seeing the Magic Kingdom for the first time ever... my girls loved it.
I did tell them not to get used to it, this was a trip given to my daughter from a wish organization, and if we went badk to WDW we wouldn't be able to stay there again.
I'll see if I can insert a pic of our view....ok I have no idea how to insert a picture.......sorry.
Yes, it's worth it if you can, it really made our trip extra special.

). We stayed at the CR only because we made the plans on short notice, and a tower room at the CR was pretty much the only affordable deluxe resort room available. We requested an MK view and I explained that our DD was turning 5 during the trip, and the CM at the front desk truly enjoyed informing us that we had a room on the 11th floor and we'd love the view - well, he was right! Although the general theming isn't our favorite, we're glad we tried something different and it was the best view we've ever had! Here it is by day:
