VideoNow???

I saw the new one at Target a few weeks ago and I am almost positive that it will use all the old disks. They are coming out with a bunch of new disks and the new machine will be interactive and will be able to play games also. I am planning on getting my kids these for Christmas (they currently have the B&W ones). They are great for the plane and car rides.

The Hasbro website doesn't have the VideoNow XP player on it that I can find, but if you search for "VideoNow XP" you can find disks that it says play on both VideoNow and VideoNow XP.

I was at wal-mart today and all the disks that play on the XP also play on the color (or so the disks say). Wal-Mart also had all the accessories for the color on sale, I couldnt' find any of the color versions, though.

I saw at Target yesterday that the new XP player has a new accessory - a program for the computer that you use to record your own PVD's. It was $14.99

I can't wait to see what kind of shows people can come up with from their own video library. I guess if it is on your hard drive or downloadable it can be loaded onto a PVD for the XP.

Both my boys have them and love them. They work well and we haven't had any skipping problem. They are great for car rides. We haven't used them in a plane yet. They usually bring their gameboys on plane rides.

I guess I am only the second negative. My son got this for Christmas and Birthday last December. He is 6 1/2. He has every accessory and too many discs and they are all sitting in a drawer. We didn't even take it on vacation with us this summer. The kids were so much happier with their DVD players ($125 on clearance at Target in April). I figure the DVD players are cheaper because we don't have to buy special discs for them. I personally would not buy it.
