It's okay, not your fault! It's just that I wasn't done asking questions and they e-mailed me the contract. I'm still kinda unsure what all the stuff they're talking about means (montages vs. raw footage, vs. having multiple cameras, etc) so I just felt like they didn't want to answer anymore? They were polite and everything I just feel kinda rushed in the e-mail.

I guess the problem is - I don't know what I want and I was hoping that the vendor that I choose would really take the time and explain all the elements to me.

Mermaid_Ariel - if you have questions about video elements, you can ask them here and we'll all help out!

Montage = a short recap of an event/the day with multiple shots and usually set to music.

Raw footage = this is every single moment of film they shoot on that day. It isn't very useful for most people because it's not been edited into a story the way most wedding videos are. But I bought it because we have editing software and could cut a new version of our wedding video if we wanted.

Multiple cameras are good because you get more than one angle of a shot and capture more than one thing at a time.

Sage doesn't really go in for long, detailed emails, but we were giggling like a couple of high schoolers when we chatted on the phone the other day....

I am sooo glad that I am the only one that didn't know what all the different terms meant. I know I liked the 2 short videos Starfruit shows on their website. I love the way they did that and the music, like I said, sniffle, sniffle, really touched me . That is exactly what I was thinking of, just more of it.

hmmm...i haven't given sage any direction...i told her not to bother coming to the rehearsal, i'd just call her. i'm putting mark in charge of showing her everything we/I want...

carrie, are you sending her music beforehand? i haven't done this yet...i feel that may get burned on the plane and handed to her the day of.

her videos are fantastic and she sounds super fun and excited to be doing disney weddings! i like that she's laid back, it'll help to calm me down. since she'll do my wedding first, i'll post her review asap!

I had a reply from Sage at Star Fruit Productions. She gave me a break down of the packages and I asked if we would be able to customise them cause they were over my budget. She replied back offering me a discount off the basic package but it's still expensive... what do I do? I don't want to seem rude but I can't afford what she's offered but I know that she's given Carrie and Caryn (who she mentioned in the email... thanks girls x) a lower price. Has anyone else who's emailed star fruits had this reply?

hmmm. i didn't get a discount through sage, but i guess she changed her prices. she was significantly lower than anyone else, so i guess she just recently changed her pricing structure.

Thanks for all the replies. I have not been getting my email reminders when someone posts to a board I posted to (this has been happening - or not happening since Monday evening). So I don't want you girls to think I am avoiding you.

Anyway, we are thinking of going with Star Fruit. We need to check out a few more vendors. To those that are using Star Fruit - or anyone else - who was your photographer? I have been in touch with Randy and he is available for my date. Linda (his wife I think) said he usually works with Stan for video but he would get along with most anyone.

randy is my photographer. he said that he and stan have been working together for a long time, but he's cool with sage. he said she could even call him if she has any questions and he'll be there for her that day if she needs him. such a doll!

I sent her the music a few days ago, but I have a feeling I'll just be going over it all over again after she edits the video. It's hard to put together a soundtrack when you don't have the visuals!

I'm using Rootography. Having spoken with Nathan Root and Sage, I think they'll get along great!

Hmmm... have you tried cutting hours out of your package or extra copies of the DVD? Or going with just the one videographer? I think Star Fruit will never be able to price match companies like A Moment to Remember and Apex Media because of the amount of work S.F. puts into the videos...

She only gave us a price of $1400 so they are still a bit above our budget its a shame as there demo was really good
