Video Taping Shows

I just was on the Wonder and I wanted to vent. To those of you who try to video tape the shows, don't. The show belongs to Disney and they don't want you to tape it so don't. Where I was sitting in the show there were three people who were attempting to tape it and the crew kept coming down and telling them to stop. That is such and interuption to others. Even if they allowed it I would reccommend that you don't. Having those little display screens on give off more light that you would expect or an arm sticking up in the air with a camera. I believe that the show is considered intellectual property and the owners have the right to do whatever they want with their property please honor it and simply sit back and enjoy the show.

I agree on all points. But I fear you may have started a fire. That tends to be a hot-topic issue around here almost as volatile as "why can't I wear shorts in the dining room? I'm on vacation!"

Nah, it doesn't HAVE to be a fire. ;)

It's DCL's rule that there be no taping and I agree that it should be enforced. I'd be so bold as to say that if folks continued to tape after being asked not to that they be asked to leave the show.

When they went to this lady for the third time I thought they would have. People don't seem to understand how much an interuption their taping was. I think that people on this board observe the rules, its the people who don't know about this board who don't.

I totally agree that everyone should comply with the no taping rule.

Does anyone know if they sell videos or DVDs of any of the shows? A recording of Disney Dreams would be a great way to "remember the magic".

Absolutely agreed!! This attitude is similar to reserving deck lounges by the pool. Some people are just down right inconsiderate and rude when they're on vacation (or not). They feel they deserved to be that way because they paid big $$ for the cruise. What they failed to appreciate is their fellow passengers also paid big $$ to be there to enjoy themselves. If everyone is rude and inconsiderate to others, no one will be able to enjoy the relaxing and fun cruise experience.

We only went to one show (Disney Dreams) on the cruise. We sat behind a man whovideotaped the entire thing. The glare from his camcorder most definitely had a very negative effect on my being able to enjoy the show. I almost said something quite rude to him, but decided that I was above that and let it go. But I wish that a crew member would have said something, because it was annoying and disruptive and downright rude!

I was surprised how many people took flash pictures during Disney Dreams, and no one ever said anything. That is so dangerous for the performers.

I think it would be great if they sold a video of Disney Dreams. It would make a great souvenir! When we were on RCL a few years back they sold a video of the highlights of the cruise we were on. We didn't get one, but I sure would on a Disney cruise!

We saw lots of videotaping on the Wonder too, including people who kept doing it even after being asked to stop (and some more than once). We videotaped the shows way back in the early days, before they asked you not to. Hubby stayed all the way in the back (there is sound board equipment in that area now) so that his taping would not be an annoyance to anyone around us. Now that it is forbidden, we would never do it. The only photos we take are without a flash...we sit up in the front row so they will come out. Disney seems to enforce the rules sporadically, and I hope they will tighten that up even more...there used to be NO enforcement, so it's nice to see it now.
