VIDEO--Inside Starbucks on Main Street

Not LOL, here the restaurant was serving Stouffer's items- the main reason you're there. It's not like serving Coke products, becuase you could have water.

Evidently, I'm crazy because I refuse to live in the past and not change. Change in inevitable. People can choose to be all sad about it and mope right down the middle of mainstreet USA, or they can get over it.

I know a lot of people are upset by the horrible violation of putting a huge corporate partner front and center, but guess what- Disney is a for profit business. I highly doubt any of the nay sayers around here will quit going.
~Again, you refuse to look at this objectively. You have to acknowledge that this is a Starbucks. You are comparing apples & oranges.

~Can I eat a "Stouffer???" No, I couldn't. I don't dine at Liberty Tree Tavern specifically for "Stouffers", I want "Mac & Cheese.." The supplier could be ConAgra and desserts could come from Sara Lee for all I care. It is not the same thing.

~The integrity of the Main Street Bakery has been compromised. In contrast, the iconic Disneyland Jolly Holiday bakery remains untouched. Even the Fiddler, Fifer and Practical Cafe offers Starbucks as a welcome "enhancement" to their menu not it lieu of it. This is not the case with the Starbucks on Main Street.

~I liken this to going to an Apple Store only to discover everything has been replaced with Dell -- but a few refurbished Apple ipods will be available at the counter after 11AM.

~And, now I see you are attempting to spin this argument into something I could not care less about. My position is simple, this is a Starbucks. I think it's deceptive and inappropriate for Disney to continue to promote and advertise this place as the iconic Main Street Bakery when the menu has been completely replaced with the full Starbucks menu. And, a few sweets are offered only AFTER 11AM.

~I could not care less about who Disney uses as a sponsor, but this is deceptive. If Starbucks is so great, use that & change the name to Starbucks.

Who cares if you have your Starbucks or not - not me.

As usual, most people are missing the point entirely. Starbucks has NOTHING to do with it. They can serve it anywhere - I don't care! It's taking away the MSB that is the issue, people! Sheesh! Especially, when they SAID, it would still be the MSB, just serving Starbucks coffee - NOT :rolleyes1

If I didn't have videos of the original MSB, I would not have a clue what this place was before. The interior is completely different, nothing is the same (except the name - :woohoo:).

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Agree! Agree! Agree!

I'm only upset by the term 'bakery' being used still. We can walk to get our cinnamon roll and if I want a real bakery feel, the place to go is the boardwalk bakery :) I'm happy/sad the bakery got this update. Although it had become a tradition to share a cinnamon roll with my kids in the bakery on our last day, it was obvious for too long that the space was poorly laid out and there were no decent options for coffee in the MK. Walt said his park(s) would continue to be updated and to grow with time. What I don't want to see happening is for the old stuff to stay put out of nostalgia ignoring all practicality.

I'll miss the Bakery - wish I had more pics from us there.

It certainly does look, and feel like any other Starbucks. Starbucks would not settle for anything less.

They did in Disneyland. Very different setup there.

I am really happy about this, but I only went to the bakery 1 time in all my other trips so I'm not missing anything. Having a carmel macchiato while I watch wishes sounds pretty good. :) :coffee: Although I do agree with you on the fact they should change the name if they aren't going to offer 1/2 the stuff they had before.

Come to southern nj. It's bigger than the normal Starbucks but this looks very much like the one nearest me in Haddonfield NJ

I have never seen a Starbucks with that kind of decor and uniforms. Of course it's going to have display cases and a condiment counter and everything needed to sell Starbucks products but wasn't that kind of inevitable?

I just honestly don't see what the big deal is. It's a themed food service establishment, the same as any other in WDW. It's purpose is to serve the masses, and this layout will help to do that in hopefully a far more comfortable environment than the old layout of MSB. It's still themed to the time period of Main Street in the best way they could without making the place a safety hazard for the crowds it will bring in.

I know a lot of people are upset about the change of the cinnamon rolls but I read on another thread here that they had already changed the icing while they were still at MSB, so this is not just from the move to Gaston's.

Never had one anyway so it doesn't much matter!!

Change is inevitable, accept that!!

Finally! Thank you!

Just watched the video, looks very much like the rest of Main Street. Other than it being Starbucks coffee ;), it looks great.

It's a starbucks. absolutely no character except for the cm's dresses. In fact it looks much like the grab and go's at the resort. Definitely disappointed.

Not seeing that at all, looks very much like the inside of some of the other locations on Main Street and it has maintained a turn of the century look.

What is really the point of these arguments? It's done and some people won't be happy. Luckily some of us are.

I wish that I had a Starbucks like that near me. Ours are always kind of dark with muted colors and modern fixtures.

So: The people who thought this would be an awful change think it's awful, and the people who thought everything would be fine think everything's fine.

I'm shocked. :)

Really? Chicago metro area, on a smaller scale of course.

No really I haven't. The only one that I have seen that doesn't look like your traditional Starbucks is in Freeport Maine and it doesn't look like this one.

In fact I think this decor looks like some of the other shops on Main Street.

While I agree that Disney ought to have just called it a Starbucks, I'm not particularly disappointed. Never did spend a lot of time in the bakery, and I don't drink coffee. I just wish they would change the name rather than dart around the obvious.

I live in NYC where we have at least one Starbucks every two blocks, heck my apartment is over top of one. I have been in hundreds of Starbucks and I have never seen one with the decor of the one on Main Street. All the Starbucks I have seen are of modern decor, clean lines, muted lighting and very coffee shop chic. The one on Main Street has turn of century decoration, bright lighting and employee costumes one would never find in an every day Starbucks.

Yes the food displays and set ups are similar but they would have to be to serve their purpose. There are some layout similarities but that's about it. I can see people not liking the change, I can even understand it from a purest point of view but saying this is a "typical Starbucks" is not entirely accurate.

I still honestly don't see the big deal. The theme still fits Main Street and it will sell food and drinks as it was intended to do. It's not an attraction or ride, it's a food service venue where decor and menu changes are par for the course.

Then why wouldn't the call the ice cream shop Eddy's Ice Cream Shop or change all the other spots to focus on the name of the company involved?

I don't get why people are so up in arms about this, it isn't that big of a deal.

Here's my two cents as a Starbucks Gold Card member for 10 years.....in. Southern NJ:

1. This looks like NO Starbucks in the state!!!!! Starbucks don't typically have marble/granite counter tops.....not even the one in Moorestown, NJ

2. The baked goods ARE what Starbucks offers as food

3. Starbucks DOES NOT offer soda

4. WAY TOO BIG to be a normal Starbucks - they have plenty of room for a few seats.

MSB went down hill over the last few years and while I can understand some points that its bit like it used to be...it is a FAR CRY from a traditional Starbucks....it's actually a hybrid

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

it is a FAR CRY from a traditional Starbucks....it's actually a hybrid

This!! It is both!! And that's okay! Regardless of what Disney "led us to believe" it is what it is!!
