Hello All!

I'm sure this has been asked before but if I have the dining plan can I dine at V&A for 2 table services or do I have to pay out of pocket for it? I really want to dine somewhere where me and husband get to dress to the nines!!! Will we get to that here or is the dress code not upheld? Any advice would be awesome!! 242 days!!!!:cool1:

You cannot use your dining plan here, you have to pay cash. I also believe I heard that as of this year you have to be 18 to dine. It looks very pricey, but worth every penny since it gets a perfect 10 everywhere I read reviews. I might try it w/ my husband one time if I come up w/ an extra $300.00 for us to eat! Doubt it.

The Platinum plan is the only plan that is accepted at V&A's - not sure if it was a mistake or not, but they appeared to bill 3 credits when DW & I last week... wine pairings are an absolute must ($60/head) and don't forget that the tip will cost as much as some dinners ;)

Actually, you have to be 10 or older to dine there.

They only accept the Premium Plan for dining there. A meal there will run you about $300 for the two of you, more if you decide to do the wine pairings or upgraded options.

V&A is my absolute favorite restuarant, in fact I had my wedding dinner there. It is very much worth the price of the experiance.

If they took the regular DDP it would be at least five credits per person.

I wouldn't say people dress to the nines. Not cocktail or formal wear by any means.

I love to dress up for dinner so I go all out when we dine at V&A. I use dinner there as an excuse to go shopping and find myself an elegant littlle cocktail dress that can do double-duty at holiday parties, evening weddings, and formal / semi-formal nights on cruises.

Men are required to wear a jacket and tie to eat in the dining room, and that is enforced 100%.

Hope you have a lovely meal - it's a wonderful experience!

The rule is basically no jeans, sneakers, t-shirts etc - some people like to go a bit further...

Jackets required, tie optional for gentlemen - so I couldn't resist wearing my Tigger tie ;)

DW wore a nice lightweight pants suit

I've eaten here several times and just recently booked it for our upcoming May trip. The CM on the phone said the spiel regarding men's jackets and then said that dresses for women were preferred. I've always dressed up because it's part of the fun.

Sorry it's took me so long to reply...I've been down and out after knee surgery..ugh!:confused3 I will, however, be fully recovered by my November trip:yay: Thanks for the advice! I make my reservations next month and I think I'm going to make V&A reservations! I figure, whens the next time I'll have a good excuse to eat at such a pricy resteraunt?! Isn't that what vacations all about?

And, I agree, half the fun is dressing up...even if not everyone does!:flower3:

Oh you'll love V&As. We went for the first time in December and it was awesome, amazing, wonderful. The service is top notch and the food was delicious. We went without the wine pairing and got a great bottle of wine. If you go this route ask for help. Their wine list is a textbook and you could possible kill someone by hitting them with it. Anyways, definitely go all out. Dh wores his black suit with tie and I had a black cocktail dress. We got some great pictures of us at the GF.

Also if you have a car you can drive and they validate valet parking at V&A.

If you are an AP holder or a Florida resident it's worth it to get the DDE card for Victoria & Albert's. You will get 20% off of your meal, but you'll be charged a 20% gratuity. In my opinion it's still worth it - you receive impeccable service that is well worth 20% and the $60 card cost will be paid for with this one meal.

Thanks Daisy!

Does anyone have suggestions on what night of the week would be best or should I just take what I can get? We're staying at WL from Sunday to Sunday during the Food and Wine Festival the first week of November. I think the Food and Wine Festival actually ends on the Thursday that we'll be there. Is it better to make reservations for after it's over?:confused3

DH and I got dressed to the nines and did NOT feel out of place. 3 other couples wore full suits (men) and VERY fancy dresses (women of course!!). The dress code may not indicate but the price does. Dress up!! And get the wine. You'll have a great time!!

V&A fills up VERY quickly during F&W Festival.

Also, while it is not published yet, they have locked in the date for the "Speciality" / Celebrity Chef dinner at V&A during the FWF. This year the date will be Sunday Nov. 2nd., so I would not count on that night, unless of course you would enjoy it, but last year it was $375 pp

Personally, I would suggest calling with a date, but being open to taking whatever they have available.

Most men do wear suits either with our without ties. DW and I have been a few times now - first time was for our wedding and I wore a full suit and tie while she wore a cocktail dress. Last time there I went with dress pants and a sport coat, no tie, and I was still well within the dress code. Like others have said, DW liked the opportunity to dress up so she went with the fancy dress again. We like it for the chance to dress up and go out. Last time we were not staying at GF so we took a Mears car over as well - feels weird to be on Disney transportation in such attire.
