Me and my husband went to Victoria and Albert's on 10/22/12 and since I loved looking at all the reviews and pictures here I figured I should add my own in case others are interested.
First, the service there was completely amazing right from the beginning. The hostesses were so friendly. They gave me a table hook for my purse and tiny little stool for my husband's camera.
The dining room was very elegant, with quite music playing and the tables nicely spaced.
The amuse bouche came first. If I recall it was type of cold melon soup, melon ball with prosciutto (or maybe some other type of cured ham?) and a little ball of melon sorbet. We both liked this a lot. Very fresh, and the soup was surprisingly delicious.
We both had "Roasted Long Island Duck with Pomegranate, Pistachios and Hearts of Palm." Super good, I don't really care for hearts of palm in general, but this was great.
My husband had the "Diver Scallop and Gulf Shrimp Cioppino with Maine Mussels and Fennel Nage" he just referred to it as the best ever.
I tried some scallop and it was cooked perfectly.
I had the "Wild Turbot with Toasted Capers and Preserved Lemon" Just to note, this item was a $30 upcharge. I wanted to drink the sauce this came in. If you like fish/turbot give this a try!
My husband had "Braised Oxtail and Cherry Ravioli with Roasted Red Peppers" I had a bite of this and loved it. The meat just fell apart in my mouth.
I had the "Herb-crusted Ocala Rabbit and Sausage with Carrots". The rabbit was great, I am a huge fan of rabbit. The sausage was not my favorite, but I think it was a matter of personal taste. I don't really care for foie gras or meat pates, this was the same type of texture. The carrots were both adorable and tasty.
I had the "Poulet Rouge "Oscar" with Alaskan King Crab and Spring Asparagus" This was one of my favorite dishes. It came with both white meat (with the yummy "Oscar" sauce) and dark meat. There were potatoes and asparagus as well. This was a larger dish than I expected, and there was a ton of crab.
My husband (Steve) had The "Blackmore Wagyu Beef". Note that this is an $80 upcharge. The beef was melt in your mouth amazing. In addition this dish came with this delicious short rib mini-casserole dish that was unbelievable.
We were offered coffee before the next course, and I love the contraption they served it in.
Steve had the "White Chocolate Gelato with Tableside Shavings" it was very yummy.
I had the cheese plate. I am allergic to blue cheeses (stilton as well) so they subbed with with some smoked gouda.
For Desert Steve had the Hawaiian Kona Chocolate Souffle"
And I had the "Tanzanie Chocolate Pyramid with a Champagne-Chambord Truffle" This was just great, I only wish I had more room left to eat all of it!
If anyone wants to see any more pictures of anything, let me know and I may have it. This trip had taught me that it is time for a new camera lens
This meal was amazing, and we'd go back again, definitely.
