Okay... we have gone through the agony of choosing a resort (which took several weeks and we are now booked at the Poly in Sept) Now I am moving onto the next planning step.... food and PS reservations.
We will be at WDW on my bday and I am having a hard time choosing between CG and V&A. We have not been to either restaurant and this will be our first time staying in a WDW resort. Any suggestions would be appreciated!!:Pinkbounc

Big difference between the two - Vic and Als is fine dining - dress code, quiet atmosphere, pianist, different spoons depending on which type of soup you order, a menu designed on what was the freshest, best in-season food the Chef could get--- that sort of thing......CG will have a "just left MK" crowd as well as quite a few families (Although there will be some people who are dressed for dinner, and Adult-only parties)- the food is still yummy, but not quite the caliber of Vic and Als (IMHO- You get what you pay for), and the atmosphere will definitely be louder, brighter. Also keep in mind that Vic and Als has 2 seatings for dinner, while CG seats continually (so the restaurant and the waiter, both have a financial incentive to get you seated, fed, and on your way in a reasonable amount of time) (Not that you will be hurried, but it may not be as leisurely as Vic and Als)..

Sort of like comparing Apples to Oranges.....It all depends on the atmosphere and total experience you want for your Birthday....Me, I would opt for Vic and Als for any excuse I could fathom----it's truly yummy!

V&A's is wonderful. If you enjoy having a reason to dress to the nines and want an incredible meal and impeccable service, go to V&A's!!!!!

I'm taking myself there for my birthday in April and I can hardly wait.

We are one of the few couples who were not impressed with V&A's but love the C. Grille. I enjoy fine dining but this was very average in my mind. The service at V&A's was very good, better than C.G. by a long shot. That said, we would not return to V&A's even if it was a good deal less expensive. Please do not make your decision based on my word as this restaurant gets rave reviews on this site.
