Anyone have any reviews or thoughts on these? I picked up a pair off ebay at about 30% retail price to try them out. They're a workout in and of themselves just to get them on, but they're not too bad once you get them on. I haven't worn them other than just walking around though. They just got here about an hour ago.

What do you guys think of yours if you have them?

My DS loves them - he has 3 or 4 pair. He runs in them, exercises and wears them just about everywhere. He has ones for winter complete with the proper socks etc. He gets comments on them everywhere we go.

He has plantar fasciatis (sp?) and these shoes have made a world of difference for him.

Says to break them in slowly, they work different muscles and can cause soreness. They also can irritate the toes if not added to your footwear slowly.

I second the take it slow comment. I got a pair of the Bikilas last August, and for the first month, it felt like someone had beaten my calves with a stick after every run with them. I am still making the transition to them for running - I can run 6 or 7 miles without a problem, but I cannot use them for my all of my daily runs, and I would not yet dream of running a road marathon in them.

(I am toying with the idea of wearing them for at least part of a trail race late next month, however.)

I am not sure I would wear them around town - not sure about driving in them, etc. Haven't ruled out the possibility though. ;)

I have the KSOs. I was mainly thinking of slowly converting to them once we move because i'll be running on asphalt and with alot more curves hills and drops. Right now I run on concrete sidewalks in my neighborhood and I run about 4-5 miles at a time about 3x per week but we're moving to the country and no sidewalks ;)

I think i'll wear them around the house and while doing chores, etc. for a couple of days and see how they feel before starting to transition into using them for running.

Do any of you use them in water? Are they pretty durable for tossing in the washing machine?

Son uses his in the water, loves them for trail hiking with streams etc. also yes, he washes them regularly, his get stinky. He also puts them in the freezer, this does something to help alleviate the stink. I just soak them in the washer with white vinegar and then let air dry.

They are certainly funky looking but form over fashion is okay with him.
He is running the Tahoe Odyssey in May (200 mile relay type thing) and is planning on doing it all in his Vibrams

yeah I'm not big into fashion myself. I go for comfort over style any day. Since I don't work outside the home I'm in a tshirt and basketball shorts most every day :) On the rare occasion I put on makeup my husband usually wonders what's up. haha!

Last time we were in San Francisco son wore his for 5 days of footing it all over the city, he loves the silly things and he loves the attention he gets with them

DS works at a high end running store and those are his biggest sellers. He loves them. A lot of his college friends have them.

I wash mine with my running stuff every couple of weeks (at least). They don't go in the dryer (obviously), and I've had them for close to 9 months and 400 or 500 miles.

A friend of mine has them, and he's been nicknamed the "toeman". He just bought a new pair since he found some for about 1/2 off and said it was a bad idea to walk the 1.5 miles to the gym in them, without breaking them in first. So he switches between his old and new ones. He said it took a while at first to get used to them, but now it feels like he's walking barefoot.

Just be careful about walking through puddles. Well I guess it depends on the kind you have, his doesn't dry out very fast.

I love mine - they are great for Pilates and yoga.

One hint on washing them - fill a bucket with hot water and a few efferedent tablets. Add shoes and soak. Rinse. Kills all the stink! Works great for flip flops, soccer shin gaurds and anything that can be put in hot water!

Good to know! DS's tend to stink

I have a pair. Barely worn. Was able to get them on in the store and now that I am home just can't seem to get them right. My toes do not want to separate like that.

Love mine! I have bunions and overall bad feet and were hoping they would give me some relief....they have! :cool1:

I have worn them for the last 2 marathons I've ran. :thumbsup2 I have seen some weird looks my way while running but I don't care.....they are amazing to wear once you get used to them!!!

They've literally saved my feet.

After working for three years on my feet for 10+ hrs/day, I got to the point where I could barely get out of bed. I would crawl into the bathroom and roll cans under my arches, soak my feet in hot or cold water, use every lotion under the sun... nothing helped. Eventually I saw guests wearing these shoes to the parks and I did my researched. I purchased Sprints last summer and they've changed my life. No more pain, no more limping, no more rolling. I wear them constantly, and bought the socks for winter weather. Haven't run as much in them as I'd like, but hope to when my knees recover. This weekend I converted one of my close friends, and she bought the Treksports. She's already saving for KSOs.
