we finally decided on a cruise---were doing the british isles in sept on the dream

now were trying to decide on a stateroom

my first is an OV on decks 7 8 9

next Im sort of interested in trying the navigator veranda if anyone has any thoughts on this please let me know--since the balcony is enclosed does that make the room seem darker anything woud be helpful

next choice would be balcony since this cruise is in sept I really dont think well have much of a chance to really sit out there much we were on a cruise around the same time of year that left out of Southampton it was so cold on deck mostly at night though that people were on deck with the blankets!! but then later in the cruise we had perfect weather and sat out there

so my main question is in this catagory the rooms are in the back which is fine closer to pool and food but we were on the fantasay years ago and there was quite a bit of vibration since wondering if thats the case on the dream--we were on the dream once actually it was the 5th sailing out but we were all the way in the front--had one of thehugs corner rooms but with the small slanted window--
so just wondering if the vibration on the dream is like what it was on the fantasy which I think by now they did fix it

The dream does not have navigators verandahs—those are on the Magic and Wonder.

The aft does get some vibration but not as bad as on the fantasy.

The 7A categories on the Dream and Fantasy are not the same as on the classics. Sometimes the balcony is a little obstructed by the walls of the ship, and a couple of the balconies are really tiny.

We really enjoy the far aft and have sailed in those aft viewing the staterooms several times. There is vibration on the Fantasy, but three cruises on the Dream on decks 6 & 7 and there’s been no issue.

thanks for clearly that up about the navigors veranda I think when I saw 7A I just assumed it was an nagivators so basically a 7A has some obstructions

so then just the fantasy had/has the vibrations issue and not the dream
now I feel better if I have to go to my third choice
thanks

thanks for this! I’m going to be on the aft in Deck 6 Oceanview and pretty far back and I was looking for reviews about vibrations.

Stayed in an oceanview aft deck 7 (7672) on the Dream in November and I definitely noticed vibrations, wasn’t unbearable but definitely noticeable and a bit annoying at times

The reservation on my next cruise next July aboard the Dream reads "Stateroom with Navigator's Verandah". But it's been posted on here that the Dream doesn't have Navigator's Verandahs, it's the Magic and Wonder that have them. But on my last cruise on the Fantasy late last year I was assigned a stateroom with Navigator's Verandah or stateroom with an obstructed view.

It's also been posted that the Dream does have some vibration just not as bad as the Fantasy, but someone else said that on several cruises on the Dream they had no issue with vibration on their decks.

So does the Dream have Navigator's Verandahs and is there a vibration? I think it's yes to the Navigator's Verandahs and a maybe to the vibration.

This is what the call a “navigator’s verandah” on the Dream/fantasy. It is just a metal obstruction over part of the balcony.

In contrast this is what they have on the classic ships and what most people think of as navigators verandahs on disney cruise. Very different thing.

And yes there are vibrations in the aft of the dream—not as much on the fantasy but it is widely reported aft in stateroom reviews and we have anecdotally heard about the vibration from fellow guests on the Dream.

We just sailed on the Dream 2 weeks ago in a far aft extended verandah (we were next to the flag so can’t get anymore aft than that). There was definitely vibration when pulling into ports and any change in speed. The last night arriving into Miami it was very noticeable—everything was rattling and shaking similar to a small earthquake which we have experienced but longer duration, bathroom door was not shut all the way and flew open. It was enough that both my husband and I woke up and could not sleep again for the last 2ish hours. Daughter didn’t even notice, don’t know how since the shaking continued for the whole early morning. The rest of the time it wasn’t too bad, but there were a few times we both commented on it. We booked a forward extended verandah on the Fantasy next year. I would not risk staying far aft on the Fantasy after doing the Dream and knowing the Fantasy has a reputation for being more impacted. I’m not sure I would stay aft again on the Dream unless I was getting the larger balcony as a trade off

thanks for the helpful reviews they really helped alot the balcony was my 3rd choice if I couldnt get the navigators but since know I know its just an obsturcted view balcony is my 2nd choice

cant believe this is really going to happen
