Hi all.

I'm taking my mom on her first trip to WDW in October!

For this trip, we'll be doing a day at Epcot. I had made a reservation at Via Napoli for lunch, but now I'm rethinking that reservation and considering the Biergarten.

Initially I chose Via Napoli because I enjoyed VN when I visited. Also there seemed to be enough "soft" food on the menu, which works for my mom because she is waiting to get lower dental implants. However, looking at the menu last night, I'm seeing that it's mostly pizza and we have amazing pizza here in NYC.

I'm drawn to the Biergarten because my mom grew up on German food. (And forced us to eat it all the time. Sauerbraten. UGH.) Plus my mom enjoys a good buffet.

I know nothing about Biergarten and would love some input. Photos would be great too. And I would definitely welcome opinions from someone who's been to both.

a wide variety of foods including cold salads. The potato and leek soup is very good. A lot of people think of German food as heavy (and it can be) but roast chicken and pork are staples.

Also sauerbraten used to be served only at dinner.

Biergarten is our MUST DO every trip! We love the food and DH counts down the days until he can order a beer flight! The show is good and we've always been fortunate to be seated with wonderfully nice people. Give it a try!

DD and I will be doing both on our next trip. I LOVED Biergarten last year, sat with a lovely German couple & had a ball!!! If you go there, do be friendly. The party on my right wanted nothing to do with socializing and missed learning many interesting things from our international guests. DBr & I were so grateful for their stories (and beer recommendations!) that we gave them our Soarin' FPs as they were leaving in the VERY AM and were disappointed they had not been able to ride it. One of my best WDW memories!!

Love the Biergarten! Love the atmosphere, the show is good and and swaying back and forth with your drink saying Proust is alot of fun. Although the food is not gourmet, I don't think it's bad. My DS's enjoy all the brats. Also, I love sauerbrauten! They serve some nice Riesling as well.

Check the show schedule and book your lunch accordingly. If you take an early lunch you may finish before the show ever started.
