Just back from our first ever DVC stay.

We stayed at VGC from 12/24-12/26. We were very impressed with the DVC property.

Our room 1508 was a one bedroom, park view, a bit obstructed by fence but not a problem for us. This is a first floor room.

Thought I would share our views/comments on the experience...sorry no pics.

We really liked the property, has plently of room for the 3 adults and two teenagers in our group.

All of the fixtures were good quality. The Jacuzzi style bath was fantastic.

The quality of the room was very high, I hope we go to our home in August (BLT) we will feel just as happy.

No complaints from our end at all.

The 3 pools , two hot tubs and small kids pool were great. We were lucky with the weather and were able to spend Christmas afternoon by the pool.
Its must habe been close to 75!

The barbeque area was wonderful, two top of the range grills mounted into granite tops... looked great and were kept very keen.

The paradise peer viewing galary looks asthough it will be nice... still under construction so not able to get access.

Although we didnt need to use the laundry room I thought it looked very nice...especially with the flat screen tv.

Our family are big coffee drinkers... so the fact that they dont supply paper filters in the room was a bit frustrating...top tip you can buy filters in the snack bar... much to our relief!!!

The decorations at the hotel and park were wonderful. We have visited the parks in the summer many times, but never during the holidays. The transformation of the haunted house and it's a small world was really amazing.

We were surprised a how relatively quiet Disneyland was on Christmas eve, we arrived early afternoon.... went straight to the park....we spent no more than 20 mins in line.

On Christmas Day Disneyland got really busy after 12... so we went back home to relax....

Today we went to Disney Adventure... really surprised at how quiet the park was... we had been on all the major rides by 1pm. It was interesting to see all the construction work at the park... it looks asthough they are trying to make the park feel more Disney in Style.... a good change IMO.

By contrast we then went to Disney Land in the afternoon.... It was really busy so we decided just to drive home.

We really liked the DVC property and had a great time. Must admit though that we do prefer Disney in Florida...its even more magical.

I'm happy to answers any questionsa on the resort or our experience at the park.

Sounds like a nice trip. I love the holiday decorations at DL.

Thanks for the review..can't wait to see the villas in May :)

On your comment about DVC not providing coffee filters: You will find this at all DVC resorts. Being big coffee drinkers as well, the first thing I pack are filters and zip lock bags full of coffee.

I assume the coffee pots at VGC need the large basket filters like the pots at WDW. Can someone confirm?

Sounds like a great trip, thanks for sharing. Can't wait for our first trip "home" in May!!

We just got home from 4 nights in a 2 bedroom villa and all that I can say is OMG!! What beautiful rooms! We had a second floor pool view and I was more than happy with this location. Beautiful views and music all day and night. We went to Costco and bought prime rib and all the fixens for our Christmas dinner. We brought a tree we had purchased about 4 years ago at the DL hotel. We have a studio reserved for 5 days in March, but after this 2 bedroom, I'm afraid it's going to be a big letdown. This our first DVC room of any kind after owning for 2 years and could not be more thrilled.

Is parking included for DVC members? Is it valet or self-park. And if it's self-park, how far away is the lot?

Thanks for the trip reports. We're very interested in this property so hearing others experiences is very helpful.

We used Valet parking....$17 dollars a night. Self parking is free.
