Very unexpected positive CM experience...

I love this story, thanks for sharing, made my day! Security CMs are great, they are the first ones you see when you are about to go into the park, they have always been so nice in my experience!:goodvibes

I always like when a guard is going through a guest's backpack and sees a full size lunch for a family of four and then returns the backpack and smiles and says, "now, what time is lunch and where should I be?" I've seen families who have been afraid they will have their lunches taken from them and then they go through the turnstiles with huge smiles on their faces. That is the way to start a day.
I was entering Epcot last December and the guy ahead of my at the bag check had a large soft sided cooler packed to capacity. The CM goes through it then hands it back to the guy and says "You know you're at Epcot right? We have good food here." I got a good laugh out of that one.

One disclaimer....this was in the evening when the bag check lines were for the most part non-existant, and the Security CM had the time to "interact" with us, versus first thing in the morning when they are trying to get the hordes of people through ASAP.

I've overheard the security CMs tell little kids various things the are looking for in the bags. It's never a weapon or bad stuff. They usually tell the kids they're looking for Skittles or granola bars.

I have also witnessed this I think that is a great idea for kids who don't quite understand the actions of the Security Officers

Just a thought. I am taking my grandson next year and he will be 5. I am going to tell him they are looking for gum. And that way there will not be any stuck in odd places and you will not step in it.

Back in 2003 while going through bag check the security guard found my son's "lovey" in his fanny pack (aka his blanky- or what was left of it) the big burly security guard, pulled out just a tiny bit of it, gave my son a little head nod and a wink, put "NuNu" safely back in and zipped her up. As we walked away Jack said, "I think he liked NuNu... well, she is really soft." It is one of my favorite memories of that trip.

Going into Epcot last year the lady in front of me had a plastic store bag from Universal with stuff in it. The security guard dumped her stuff out on the table and turned the bag inside out with a comment about being as Disney. The lady didn't find it too funny, but I thought it was hillarious.

I remember the morning we went to the mk with dd, dd had a 11am shift that day and wanted to spend a few hours with dw and I in the park. She put her costume in a back pack so she didn't have to go out to costuming and come back. When the guard looked in the bag, he said "ok, have a nice day at work" and started to laugh. Lol
DD just looked at him and growled. Lol
DD them smiled, and told him to have a magical day prince and walked in. Lol
