We rode it last Tuesday, and I really didn't know anything much about it going in except that it had gotten lots of thumbs-up mention on the boards. I rode with my 5-year-old twins. We were not in the same car, since a car only holds 2, and I never saw them until the ride ended so I couldn't see how they were doing with the shooting. Apparently, they did fine, or at least *they* thought they did (which is what counts!). They enjoyed the ride. I was very disappointed, though. I honestly thought it was an unimaginative ride that lacked anything interesting unless you like video games or that sort of thing. For people like me who much prefer a story and something to see without having to shoot at it, it's actually boring. Well, it was fun at first, but I got tired of it quickly and didn't even shoot at the end.

5-year-olds: Fun ride

Mom: I'll skip it from now on unless I'm needed to take the kids on

8-year-old and Dad: Didn't ride it because they were having too much fun on CA Screamin', which is where I wish I'd been. They got to ride 3 times while waiting for us to get through TSMM.

Sorry you didn't enjoy it. But we all love it. I think its fun and we really like interactive rides.

I was surprised to find that I love it! I think I like it more than my kids. They thought it was good, whereas I thought it was great.

We loved it. Rode it three times in one trip, chasing the elusive 'higher scores.' The cars hold 4 people - 2 people per side - but since you sit back to back you can't see the folks on the other side, as you say. So we had two of us on one side, and our friend and a single rider were in our car but on the other side of us. Still, it was great fun, and my hand-eye coordination is TERRIBLE. I was able to improve my score with each ride, thankfully!

How disappointed you must feel after so many glowing reviews!?!

I absolutely LOVE that ride! I think I could ride it 10 times and not be bored with it! It is now one of my top 3 favorite rides.:cool1:

Just the theming alone blows me away! The first time I rode it I was so concerned with my score, that I didn't really look at the ride.

They did a spectacular job of making us feel like a toy too!

But like everything it life, to each his own. What a boring world it would be if we all loved everything.

See, this is what I don't get! Everybody loves it but me!! Waaaaah.

I really think I'm an anomaly, though, and I shouldn't be surprised at my reaction since I'm the only person on the planet that never liked video games. Or maybe it's because I'm a migraine person and sensory challenged? Anyway, I'm glad everyone else loves it!

Do you like Buzz Lightyear? We usually hit that 3-4 time (at least) per day since we are an ultra-competative family (I'm currently winning with a 1,063,000 score!) so I can see us absolutely LOVING TSMM as well.

I love TSMM, I can't wait to ride it again...I dream about it! LMAO!!! Seriously! LOL I'm so sorry it wasn't fun for you, maybe give it another try and see if you like it better. When you boarded were you on the same car as your twins? Maybe next time ride the next car and then you can actually see them as you're turning corners. :)

Nope, I don't like Buzz either

I am not :lovestruc  :lovestruc in love with BLAB either. I mean, it's ok, but I would much prefer the more themed rides as well. Once in a trip is enough for me on Buzz, maybe twice if the kids want to go on it again.

I am curious to see if we will feel the same about TSMM. I am hoping that I enjoy it. Although, DH always takes the fun out of attractions like BLAB because it seems so easy for him to rack up the points and I have the hardest time! We'll have to see who does better on TSMM when we finally get there! :goodvibes

Well that probably explains it! They are both rides that are interactive. If you didn't like Buzz, I'm surprised that you were surprised about TSMM!

We like our video games in this family, and LOVE Buzz, so I have no doubt we'll enjoy TSMM! But I know how that is though. I can't stand thrill rides. So when everyone raves over Screamin or the Tower of Terror, I just know I wouldn't agree AT ALL! LOL

You're not the only one one doesn't like video games, I don't like them either. I haven't been on Toy Story or Buzz yet (I'm going to try them both next month). Based on the videos I've seen on youtube, I doubt they're going to become one of my favorites, but I want to try them at least once.

Aw, I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it :/.

I am in LOVE with that gam--Er, I mean ride. :P.

I know exactly where you're coming from, though; I like rides like Peter Pan that tell a story as you go about the ride, which is why, as people who read my replies on these threads, I am THRILLED for the new Ariel Ride :).

Disney hasn't done many new "Storytelling" rides lately, probably the latest being Mike & Sully to the Rescue. Hopefully more will come as more movies become branded "Classics".

I'm with you, I much prefer rides like Peter Pan, where you are just immersed in the story of the ride. That said, I loved the Toy Story ride at WDW last month and I'm looking forward to doing it again at DCA next month!

Wow, you guys are really nice!! I know I get kind of touchy when someone disses a ride I like, LOL. I really did *want* to like it, but it makes me uncomfortable. I wasn't very good at it, lol, which may account for part of my disappointment. I scored something like 72,000 and my seatmate from Utah (who was very nice...if you're a DISer, say hello!) had over 150,000. She loved the ride and had been on it 3 or so times.

I too love the "story" rides. Maybe I'll have to ride TSMM again to see if I missed something the first time. I don't remember anything very interesting...all I really remember is lots and lots of bullseyes coming at me and figuring out I had to just start randomly firing as quickly as I could. There must be a lot of stuff I didn't catch, because like Seattle Tink I was only seeing the targets.

I get to go back in Nov. with my sister, so I will have the chance to take a second look...

I'm not a video gamer, I find Buzz kind of boring, and I didn't love TSMM the first time I rode it either.

But last trip to DCA it was me trying to convince my video gaming DS that TSMM was worth the 25 min wait, so it's definitely grown on me. :rotfl2:

While I'm glad so many people enjoy the ride, I think some of the reviews I've seen have made it sound like way more than it is, at least IMO. So I'm not surprised that some folks are underwhelmed when they finally get the chance to experience it.

Yep, give it another chance - but this time you'll go in with realistic expectations and maybe it'll grow on you too. :thumbsup2

Oh No!! you must have been so disappointed with the ride after everyone saying how great it was. I like it A LOT better than Buzz. I hate that ride. Mostly because I'm no good at. Oh well, I guess that means more time for Screamin!

I had read all about TTMM and I did not fully understand it. I am okay with Buzz. The line are never that long and I can take a kid on it. I don't score that high - but have fun enough.

Maybe it is because I had very low expectations for TTMM, but I liked it. At first I was a little put off (you don't feel immersed in the experience - like Splash or Indiana Jones) because you just travel to computer screens. Oh and I forgot to put on my 3D glasses until half way though the first screen - I am such a dork.

But I really liked that you shoot different things (darts, rings, etc).

I only rode it once. I would have liked to ride it again - but it broke down when we were in line and it was record heat for Oct (99 degrees) so we headed to cool down in ITTBAB.

aww I know how you feel when there is tons of hype about an event or movie and so much so that you don't even enjoy it when you get there. I'm glad to hear you'll give it another shot though. I would suggest though that you ride with one of your kids and see it from their point of view. My younger kids think it's hilarious that they shoot pies woody and friends. Seeing them giggle over it is too funny. We also happen to be a family that LOVES all things Toy Story, if it's been a while maybe a Toy story movie night before you go again would be fun. My older kids and I are all into the competition aspect of this game so much so that my 10 yr old knows his new high score has now finally topped 200K!

Buzz Lightyear WAS my favorite ride until last week when we went to WDW and tried TSMM for the first time. We did it 5 times between going two different days. I beat my DH every time (as I usually do on Buzz). We LOVE TSMM, it is SO much better than Buzz!

As for video games at home- I never touch them. Don't own any and don't play any when I'm someplace where they exist.
