I had a 4-night cruise booked on the Fantasy for four adults, at the end of September, in a Family Ocean View stateroom for right at $3,995. I switched to the exact same stateroom on a 4-night Wish with the 20% off and $250 gift card for $3,810 - $250= $3,560. A 26% total discount, or $435 savings and I did pick my on stateroom.

But still, a 26% discount on probably Disney's least favorite ship in September, I think is low and higher percentages off will be offered in the future. I still have my heart set on a goid discount on a 5-night on the Fantasy, so still in limbo whether to keep this cruise or roll the dice. Any predictions here?

If it's the Fantasy that you really want to sail on, either 4 or 5 nights, I'd stay with that ship. Yes, right now you are saving $435 (which is decent), but are you going to regret not being on the Fantasy? If so, then I would book that and hope for a future discount you may qualify for. But, you may also find you like the Wish. Hard to say what will happen, I would think if they needed to discount the Fantasy, Disney would have offered it with the current drop of discounts.

Cant tell you discount predictions since I am a total noob to cruising but I can share my recent experience. I had a booking on the Wish and then switched it to the Fantasy. Then the discount came out for the Wish 😢. It would’ve saved me much more than $435 though. I had major feeling of regret. Mainly because I am bargain hunter and I always make it a point to get the best of the best deals on everything. It was a day too late to switch back to the Wish!

Now that my booking window for activities has opened Im glad I will have more days on the Fantasy than the shorter sailing we would've had on the Wish. I am also now realizing there is a reason the Wish went on sale and not the Fantasy for the same set sail dates for me. Im now content with giving up the discount and will catch the next discount on the Wish instead.

DCL seems to be releasing GTY with restriction rates very slowly for the Fantasy. I am still waiting for a VGT rate for the 5/6 sailing - and it sails in around 60 days. If you wait for the restricted guarantee rate for September, you will be booking activities, excursions and dining after everyone else. Not an issue for us since we cruise so much, but might be an issue for others.

You’re not kidding on the Fantasy. I’ve been stalking the page everyday and see them updating stuff for the Wish and nothing beyond just the 5-1 VGT rate (which I thought was strange being it was so much cheaper than OV and inside). I’m beginning to think as slow as they are to update just going to restricted rates I may still have to wait even further to see if they do a FL resident rate. I’m beginning to think that won’t happen and I may be out of luck if I wait on that for the 5/6 sailing

For the 5/1 sailing, the inside and ocean view cabins must have sold better at regular price than the verandah cabins. Since they only released VGT rates. I have seen this before on other cruises we previously booked.

The Fantasy just must be selling better than the other ships - DCL doesn’t seem to need to discount it as much!

I absolutely think the Fantasy is selling way better than the Wish. There are reasons, no doubt. And I may just need to welcome a Wish cruise and try to keep an open mind. But I also think that the 26% off I have now could just be the beginning of the discounts for the Wish. Does anybody recall what about they offered on the Wish for Fall 2025?

We did a 4-night Wish last September in a VGT for 2 adults for $2K. It was Labor Day week. We were able to combine it with the Disney Visa OBC promotion as well. It was a steal. We like the Wish class ships so we don't mind the Wish but for the price we wouldn't have complained either way.

This. I think a much better discount of more than 26% for the Wish is a high possibility.

They have the 7th-11th of September already on sale as well for this year. Did you fly? I am thinking flight prices might be higher during that time period?
