In going through some very old WDW stuff from previous trips (late 1980s) I came across some old children's passes from when "the kids" were little with one day left on them. Well, now they're both college and post-college aged-we're going again this May. The boys were so young (6 and less) that they didn't even sign the passes since they couldn't write! Can they still use that last day left (we're talking 4 days total-4 passes with 1 day each)? Will we have any hassle since the passes aren't even signed? We can easily prove the boys' ages at the time of the passes, but how to prove the passes are theirs if they're not even signed. And do you think it would be best to go to the Ticket or Guest Services window outside the park to exchange the passes. We don't want to upgrade the passes and apply the day since I already bought new passes (not knowing I'd come across these).

I hope someone can help you. You may end up having to call ahead to ask.

You should not have a problem, just have the kid's (now young adults ) with you at the guest services window. My sister did the same thing in December with old passes where her Daughter was 6 at purchase and is now 17.

I do not think you have to call long distance. You can do whatever is needed after you get to WDW.

Do not apply the value of those passes to newer passes. The one day remaining on those passes is worth one day as-is but only a fraction of a day of a new pass due to inflation and ticket price increases.

Do not pay the difference between yesteryear's child price and today's adult price.

If the ticket booth agent tries to charge you more money, go to a different ticket booth for a second opinion. If you don't like the second opinion, go to guest services outside the park.

Actually I am told that the passes should be upgraded to adult passes with the same remaining days at no extra charge.

Depending on the vintage of the older pass, it might not be valid at Animal Kingdom or MGM studios since those parks didn't exist at the time you bought the pass. Some of the not quite so old passes bought before AK have been given AK privileges, though. But this really should not be a problem especially with just one day left on each old pass.

Avoid carrying more than one pass per person per day. It is extremely easy to use two different passes by mistake on the same day, wasting a day's worth of admission. Feel free to write on the passes with a ball point pen to keep track of who is using it and on what day.

One more thing. When all is said and done, ask for the old pass back as a souvenir. (They will stamp or write "VOID" across the pass.)

Thanks! The tickets are from 1987, when only MK and Epcot existed, so we'll make our plans to only go there on those days. This is great. And if it doesn't work out when we're there, we haven't lost anything. Like I said, I have bought new passes. It just would be so great to save a little money and use these.

A few days ago someone on another post reported being given a hard time when they tried to see how many days were left on old passes. The CM wanted to know where they had purchased them. I don't think you will have a hard time but just be prepared. And of course if you don't like the answer given try again with another CM. Good Luck!

It's pretty obvious how many days are left on these. These are from the time when each day of park use the date was stamped on it by the CM. I also have one from the early 1990s, when they punched a hole out for each day of park use. Frankly, I yearn for the "good old days" when the # of days left was obvious just by looking at the pass. Now I go to Guest Services on the last day I'm in the parks and write down in pen on the back of the pass how many days are left.
