My husband will be needing to pack his steel toed shoes {Don't ask!}...in his checked luggage. Has anyone ever had to do this? Do they give you a problem when it's screened?

Don't know. Best bet is to call the airline and ask. I would think if it's checked luggage it shouldn't be a problem. But be aware that any checked bag can be opened and examined without your knowledge if the screeners feel there is a threat. Unless he REALLY needs to pack them, I'd skip it. I wouldn't want anything like that lost on a trip and have to replace it.

DH always wears his boots, even on vacation. It is so hard to get him to wear tennies! Last year, he got stopped at every security check point we went thru. That was all he needed to make him wear his tennies, atleast on the way to and from vacation. I just put his boots in the checked luggage and have had no problems. I was even able to fit the hair dryer in one boot so the hair dryer had extra padding. LOL
