I have sailed on a couple of Disney Cruises but will be sailing on my first Very Merrytime Cruise this fall. They will be opening up pre-booking of activities in the next couple of weeks and I wanted to know if there is anything that I should know about that should be booked in advance? Any special activities? I’m not really interested in excursions or dining (been there and done that). I am more interested in anything festive that is particular to this Cruise which you would recommend booking in advance?

Also my daughter really wants to have the bibbidi bobbidi boutique makeover. We will be on a 4 day / 3 night cruise, any recommendation on when it would be best for her to go to the boutique?

Thank you all in advance.

I took my first VM last year on the Fantasy. I loved it and so did DH - we are doing it again.

There are several threads here on the boards if you search you can get some great ideas.

We don't have children so I can't help you there but I will say try to sign up for the Ginger bread decorating if you can. They are gingerbread men cookies and they provide basic candies to decorate but it is fun. On our 7 day I missed signing up but they offered a second session with no sign up required. It is quick and fun. And the cookies were good.

Things we did outside of Disney activities:
We brought on a mini plastic Xmas tree we got on Amazon, some battery operated lights and decorated the tree and would light it whenever we were in the room.
And DH and I brought on our own Ginger bread house kit (sealed) and I did it in the room one night (well I did it and he watched). We never ate it and told our stateroom host we were leaving it for her to have or toss and she actually was excited - she wanted to use it for a decoration in her cabin. It was more about the activity than eating it and I have another one already for this year. One word of advise, read the instructions before you buy... mine had to "set up" for a day after assembling before decorating. I didn't want to wait so I had a leaning gingerbread house. :rotfl2:

Have fun!

“Leaning Gingerbread House” that is hilarious. Thanks, these are great tips. The small Christmas tree to decorate the room is a great idea. I didn’t think of that. Thanks

On our merrytime on the Dream last year it was ginger cookie decorating not ginger house decorating, and it was first come first served, no reservation needed. We enjoyed it. We got there maybe 15 minutes early and were in the first 10 families let in.

Love the photos. Especially the pup in the front. Very festive. Great job!
Looking at the pictures now I should have said it was the Sliding/melting gingerbread house. :P
I was actually a gingerbread doghouse... if you look close, the roof decorations are mini dog bones.

My family sailed on a Very Merry Time cruise in 2017 and it was great!
Carolers in period customs from Charles Dickens roaming the atrium, singing Christmas songs.
Definitely, the gingerbread house making is a must. You might not want to create a house that is as large as the one on display on the Dream.

The atrium is decorated wonderfully.

We added a Christmas tree to our cabin door decorations.

Sorry, do not know why the image is rotated.
Hope this helps.

The atrium on the Fantasy was magical on our 2018 VM. It is my screen picture on my phone. Sorry mine's sideways too. 422223

We did Christmas at sea on the Dream in 2017 and I was in awe.
Disney held Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services.
On Christmas morning, it was snowing in the atrium. Santa and Mrs Claus were present. Hot chocolate\cocoa and several different types of cookies were being served.
To see several families in match pajamas roaming the atrium was great. One family even had their family role (grandpa, grandma, mom, dad, etc) embroidered on the PJs.
Enjoy!
