Very Merry Christmas party parade

My son's HS marching band is applying to perform in this parade Dec15th. At least that is what I am assuming from the details given to me by my son. Of course, we want to go see him. Does the transportation system run throughout the evening? Was thinking of staying at the Contemporary just because it's on the monorail. Well, I had more questions but they've slipped my mind. This is my first post and I used to consider myself a WDW pro til I came to this site!

Yes Disney transportaion runs I think a couple hours past the party.
Last year we were like the last one's in the park.

We will be at the 12/15 party also
