We are checking into Saratoga Springs resort for our first trip home on 6/20/04. It will probably be around midnight or a little later befor we check in and I was wondering if I should call the resort to let them know. We are staying at the Carribean Beach resort the night before and plan to have them move our bags to Satatoga. We are going to Magic Kingdom on 6/20 and the park is open until 11 pm. Don't really want to leave park mid day to check in. Could check in early but we have an 8:20 am PS......Any advice appreciated. Want our first trip "Home" to go smoothly.

Thanks,
Shan:)

We just had a late check in at BWV recently. I told MS when I made the reservation that our plane was late and it would be close to midnight when we arrived-she said she made a notation on the reservation, so you might want to call and let them know just to be sure.

disynut,

Thanks for the reply. Does anyone know if I will have problems with room requests checking in late. The only request I made was nonsmoking. Now.. I know this is ONLY A REQUEST  ...but I am worried that I am more likely to end up with a smoking room simply because that will be the only room left. Do they preassign rooms at SSR?

If I were you, I'd check in first thing in the morning before you go to the park. You may not be able to get into the room until after 4, but hopefully you should be able to go over your requests with the CM and get a room that is satisfactory. Usually once you check in, they will not change your room assignment, even though they will not give you the room number until it is ready.

Also, you may get lucky and the room could be ready because no one stayed in it the night before.

WOW! I am impressed. You have more stamina then I do 8 am to midnight at MK! (I have to limit my MK exposure, being run over by stollers gets to me LOL!)

That said, I have never really noticed much change in room quality regardless of my check in time. Maybe I am the exception to the rule.

We seem to routinely be late check in people....10 p.m., midnight, etc.
I usually make sure to call the resort the day of, just to let them know that we'll be late-comers.
I've never had a problem getting a non-smoking room, so I can't speak to that issue. You might just remind them that non-smoking is your preference.
Have fun!!

Have fun!! We won't be down there till August.
Here's a thought; You could also just give the front desk a call from MK - we've done that during transfers. During our last stay at OKW we transferred rooms. In the early a.m. they often don't know exactly which room we would have and ask us to call the front desk closer to check in time for a room assn't.
Hope that helps, :Pinkbounc

I'm with you, CarolA! It's not the strollers as much as the heat at this time of year! Must just be getting old, I guess. ;)

Since there aren't that many villas open at SSR yet, I'm sure it won't make a big difference.

The Disney strollers are the worst...hard plastic that hits right in the ankle. They should put a sign on them saying 'THIS IS NOT A BATTERING RAM' but some fool would take that as a challenge. :cool2:

For the OP, I'd check in early. You don't all need to go over to SSR&S, just one of ya'll while the others finish getting ready to check out. Of course, it helps if you have a car.

Thanks for all the great advice. We do have a car. I think I have decided to bite the bullet and get up early to check in at SSR before our breakfast PS. Our DD is 2 years old and it would be nice to have a room to come back to if we needed it. (She has been to Disney 4 trips previously and we usually tire long before she does LOL:teeth: )

Thanks again!
Shan
