Very Impressive Parents

I just saw part of an interview with Shawna Johnson's parents -- Eunice and Claude Johnson. She's the soldier who was taken prisoner. They were very strong and very sure of their daughter. You could tell they have pride in her career as a soldier and a belief that her faith in God and her training as a soldier will get her through this. They said all they've told her pre-school daughter is that "Mommy is at work."

They did mention that their daughter has a great faith and was sure to take her Rosary with her to Iraq. They don't know whether she still has it with her but they know she's praying in the dark at night. I had a thought that others here might pray for her, too...and for all the others that are fighting and may face hard times. Any prayer is wonderful but for those who pray the Rosary, maybe you could do it in Shawna's name.

TwinMomPlus 2, what a nice idea! I know men and women are equal in today's world but it still must be awful hard being a female soldier POW in Iraq. And to be African-American on top of that....I sure hope she stays strong and comes out of this okay.
