We applied for DD new passport last sat (24march) sending it normaly post saying it would take 3 weeks.

It would of arrived 26th, and we recieved it today less than 2 weeks.

So at no extra cost we got it quicker than paying to have it fast tracked.

That is impressive. We need to get DS done soon too. It is just so much money

My oldest DS had to get a new passport this year and it took three times before the Passport Office accepted it. First time his glasses were covering his eyes (so they said), and second time his face apparently didn't fit in the frame properly. But it was third time lucky and he got it fairly quickly once it got cleared. They used to be so slow up here, but seem to be getting better these days.

It's not just the passport office that made it so quick us posties also had a hand in it We process all the mail for them and we also handle all returned items like expired passports and incompleted forms.Chances are yours was done at the Durham branch they are very efficient and we handle their items every day.
