We decided at the last minute to use the Magical Express and we did not have time to get our luggage tags, but the CM told us just to go to the ME desk when we arrived and we could either give them our Baggage claim tickets or pick up our luggage ourselves and carry it with us. We decided to pick it up ourselves and carry it with us. We did just that and never missed a beat going from baggage claim to the ME desk and within minutes were directed to our bus. We had the driver load our luggage and we were on our way in minutes. I was blown away as to how efficient it was. We were on the road faster than we would have been with Tiffany Towncar. Even more impressive was our trip home. We switched resorts in the middle of our stay and called ME the day before we left to tell them. I was nervous about the whole thing, especially being picked up on time, but we called the number we were given to pay for our checked bags prior to going to the Airline check in desk, then went to to check in desk at the Boardwalk, checked our bags and turned around and the bus was there. It was an awesome service and I was truly impressed. I really don't know why I would doubt a Disney service! It has always been first class for us. For our luggage to have to go from Disney to the airport, and then switch planes for a 2 leg trip back home and to have it come off the conveyer as soon as we got home was great!

ME has gotten better & better over the years. The only problem we had last trip was that we waited in line 45 minutes to check in for our return to the airport. That wasn't ME's fault though. The people in front of us had luggage weight issues. :headache:

after we got on the bus. Since it came so soon after we went down to check in, I thought if anyone had been ahead of us, we would have been late. I'll remember to go down a bit earlier next time.

RAC (resort airline check in) and DME are separate and one has nothing to do with the other. You can use RAC even if you aren't using DME for your return to the airport.

Thank you for that correction. I guess it all kind of ran together.

I am so glad to hear you say that - I have come to love the service myself.

I don't think it is a real vacation unless you don't have to drive and you don't have to handle your luggage - unless of course, coming through customs if you go out of the country!

We are using ME in 26 days for our first trip in over 10 years. When does ME usually send the yellow luggage tags?

Just a note...the OP said that they checked their bags, turned around and the bus was there. This isn't a good thing!!! You need to be at the bus stop about 10-15 mins prior to the stated p/u time! If you leave checking your bags until just prior to getting on the bus, you stand a chance of two things happening..neither of them good.
You have to be done and walking away from the RAC counter no less than 3 hrs prior to your flight departure. If your flight, for instance, is at 11am, and you get to the RAC counter at 7:45, but there is a line? And your bus pick up time is at 8:00? You could very well not get through the bag check line in time to make the cut off time. So your bags would have to go with you, on the bus, and you would have to check them at the airport. And, you could possibly miss your bus.

It's always a good idea to head to the RAC counter as early as possible, then go back to the room and finish getting ready, or grab a bite to eat. I seldom check my bags later than 8am...no matter when I'm departing that day!

As far as when you should get your DME tags? Anywhere from 6-3 weeks prior to travel. Most people seem to get them about a month before.

We got ours already..our trip is June 5-11...we also got our Disney welcome packet and are expecting our magic bands anyday...they have shipped and I'm tracking them!
We're do u live?? We are PA..everyone seems to get them at different times 2-3 weeks before their vacation up til 10 days or sooner...I'd give it a little more time and if nothing by next week you can call!
