Now that I got your attention.
When and how did the lime green for the Dis'ers get started?

The Oct. 19th cruisers will all be boarding the Magic wearing lime green and I was wondering...

Thanks

I don't kow??? I've been here for a while and they've been around as long as I've been here.

I sort of remember it.

For some reason we decided we needed a color and most everyone agreed. I remember voting on the color and limegreenit is.

Someone else will need to fill in details. I don't remember any more.

It was a long time ago but from what I remember DISers wanted a way to spot each other in the parks. The idea of using a ribbon to identify ourselves seemed to go over well but then we decided we needed a color. Since different ribbon colors are used to support various things (red = AIDS awareness, pink = breast cancer awareness) we wanted to make sure that we picked a color that was not being used for a cause so lime green seemed to be the popular favorite.

Not all that exciting, huh?

Just for fun I did a google search on lime green ribbons and I found out that one "cause" for lime green ribbons is.....

LIME GREEN-
Stop calling people “computer geeks”

I did not make this up I swear...check it out for yourselves. :D

the original logo and what we have on our DIS t-shirts were two computer connected. They were blue but the screen was kind of a lime gree color.

blue was too common but the lime green left no doubt. Unfortunately, I don't remember who decided but it was one of us common folk.

It kind of took on a life of it's own.

I knew you guys/gals would know the answer. I like the lime green ribbon to "stop calling people computer geeks" Good choice of color. Now, if only we were doing just ribbons instead of clothing! Not my color!
