Very IMP! Dessert Party Transportation

We got our letter of agreement (woohoo!) yesterday, and DF was concerned about the fact that it says we are required to use a charter bus for the dessert party. we are in UK lower and I've read here that UK is one country where you could walk through the international gateway and not have to use the bus. I also emailed the coordinator about this and she did say that if all guests had park hoppers (i'm pretty sure they will, there are only about 20 of us and its all family) and we were already in epcot we can just meet at UK and not have to use the bus.

Has anyone been able to avoid using the bus for their dessert party? If so how?

If not, is there a minimum number of hours you have to rent the bus (I know for wedding day transportation there is a 5 hour minimum... that's $500 bucks I can save there if I dont need it for the dp)??

Lastly, did anyone have thier Letter of Agreement changed to say that they could possibly be excused from using the bus due to x,y, and z?

DF wants the contract changed (UGH MEN!!) but I dont want to be a pain in the *** so I'm hoping you girls can help me out!!

Our DP is also in Lower UK and we are not using transportation. Most of our guests do NOT have tickets so we will be meeting at the entrance to be escorted to our location. We were told that so long as no one was wearing formal attire a bus would not be necessary.

awesome! Thanks so much. This is what I thought, and I do have an email that says we could do the same from my coordinator, I just wanted to get some feedback from other people.

We had the same concerns and I spoke with my coordinator about it not too long ago. She noted that I request to have everyone meet at the International Gateway to be escorted in. She said the reason why the clause states buses are required is because they would be needed, say, if it rained and the DP needed to be moved to another location. It's purely up to the planner to make the call, which is usually never a problem. HTH!

We are also have a dessert party in Lower UK. We are not using bus transportation and are meeting at International Gateway. If our guests have a park ticket, it's a bonus. If not, we have to pay a $13 viewing fee for IllumiNations per person. We had to hire a guide for $90 since I will be in my gown and DF in his tux. Our WP didn't tell us about this option, we figured it out on our own and then asked her. She had no problem with it, but I think they try not to promote this as an option.

We are not hiring a bus. We are having 54 guests at our wedding and 45 of them are staying at POFQ - so we are telling them to meet in the front of Epcot. My DF and I and about 8 other guests will be staying at The Boardwalk. We are meeting at the International Gateway. We had to hire an additional hostess for this but I figured it was worth it. I didn't want to make all our guests go from POFQ to the International Gateway (just too complicated) - and I figured as we are at The Boardwalk I didn't want to have to go to the front of Epcot - although I did love Vanessa's PhotoPass pictures of her in Epcot so I might have to figure a way to sneak out.:lmao: :lmao:

they probably dont want to make it too public! I understand its policy, but I since we are in UK I thought we might just be able to nix the bus :) Thanks!!

Yeah - it really helps having all of them stay in one place. We have one couple that might be staying at All Star Movies - but they live in Florida and are going home after the reception (3:00pm) - they are not staying for the dessert party. They are bringing their daughter with them and she has school the next day. As they are driving, we are going to ask them to drive to The Boardwalk and meet the bus there. As our reception is at ADH they can just get in their car after the reception and not have to take a bus back.
