Very disappointed

Well, I am a bit mad a Disney Travel this morning. I was reading the disboards about Pin Codes, I saw how many people got special offers. So I took the advice and ordered the vacation planning dvd, saved vacation offers and signed up for every Disney website and I actually got a Pin Code yesterday! But it was for get the "4th night free when you stay 3 night in a deluxe resort!!!!!!" If we stay at a deluxe our vacation will be very short! The email also said call about special offers for moderate and value resorts too.. So I did… I am on the phone for an hour and get a quote and I said that is more expensive than any of the offers I saved from earlier in the week!! She said really, I’m sorry, so I said is there anything you can do for me? And she says no… so I just saved that reservation and I’m thinking she may have put us down for the Deluxe Dining Plan which is more expensive which made it so much more expensive, so I will check later. Now I know why they don’t say how much you are saving with the Pin Code cause you are not saving anything! I even asked about free dining and she was like, I don’t know how you can get that. Dont get me wrong, she was a really nice woman, I'm just angry about being left out of these special offers. I want my family to be Special!!!!!

I also read that if you get any Pin Codes after you book your trip, you can call and have them apply the offer to your reservation. So I still have a chance…

So help me out folks... do I book now for November or should I wait a little longer??????

If you are going during the holidays - book now to get the resort you want.

If not, wait until closer to the 180 day mark and then book so you can make your ADRs.

I got nowhere with Disney Reservations -- they said that they didn't have any offers for a stay in September. I'm not a fan of them sending all of these different offers -- much need to allow everyone who gets a pin to pick which one they want..... Hopefully they will send me another one, I'll just have to wait and see....

Don't feel too badly....I have "played the game" and still have NEVER gotten ANY kind of pin code. At this point I've given up hoping for that and I'm just going to wait for the Free Dining offer to hopefully be released in early April, as it has been for the last several years. I will likely be booking before then, to at least secure the resort I want, but hopefully I'll be able to apply that offer when the time comes.

I'm always complaining b/c I never get a pin/code but after reading some here & what they received-I think I did better than some just checking the website often. (40% off deluxe CL) As far as booking around the holidays, I agree with the others here-I'd book where you want now-if a good deal comes out -then you can book that & cancel the other...JMO

Don't give up hope. I've been going to Disney World for years and years (30 plus trips) and have never gotten a PIN code, and I've done everything recommended on the DIS Boards to try and get on the list to receive one. I got my first one yesterday for the free dining promo. So excited! You may still get one.

I have an AP and go to WDW 4-6 times a year. I also order the maps, DVC DVDs, cruise DVDs, WDW vacation DVDs, have saved vacations on the WDW site, and have filled out every questionare I've ever been asked to do. I've never received a PIN code. However, last year my 76 y/o mom received a Pin Code postcard. The only time she's even been at WDW was when I've taken her. She was just listed as a guest in my room. She lives with me, so the card came to our address. I called multiple times to see if I could use it, since it came to my address and she does actually live with me. Repeatedly I was told no I could not use it, unless she was with me, because it was her Pin Code, not mine. Someone here on the DIS suggested I keep trying and finally I did get a CM that let me use it. Then just a few weeks later the AP discounts came out and beat the PIN Code.

I wish we could trade pin codes, then I could give my free dining to a family who really needs it because I am traveling in June. That would be so awesome..I guess we can dream!

I know what you mean. I got the bounceback free dining for this Sept/Oct when I was there last fall. I went back in Dec and got another bounceback offer for alot of dates in 2010. It was for 35% off moderates. My husband really wanted to go later in Oct, for the Food & Wine Festival, so I went ahead and booked another trip for Oct 23rd-31st. There's no way I'm going to WDW in late Sept and then again in October. There is a chance he may not get to go, so right now I'm keeping both reservations. I'm probably going to cancel the free dining reservation and if an AP discount comes out that beats the 35% off, I'll be canceling both of them. Too bad I couldn't give both the free dining and the 35% off deal to someone else.

I'm sorry if I came off as ungrateful to anyone. I do have the Alice code so I do have a nice pin. However I think I have been put off by the actual experience with calling in. The whole game they play is less than magical. I think that is what is making me less than thrilled with them.

We would really be pressing our luck trying to go in April (financially) using the Alice code, so I was hoping for a deal in the later part of the year. Otherwise I'd take the Alice deal and run!

I got the % off pin for May-August but its pretty sad looking when I have the Alice deal and it's for the dead of summer with 8 million people, LOL! Ideally the fall with dinning or % pin for fall would have made me

But hey I'm just hoping we can swing April!

If not I may hold a fall date and hope and wish and pray!

I agree...I'm going in July and got the free dining offer for Aug. 15th and won't be using it. I would have loved to give the pin to someone else.

No offense to anyone; but I am a little calmer now that I know that this happens to other folks. I wish we could trade pins, it would be so convenient. I think I am going to book so I get my resort and I am going to book air separately because Jet Blue has a good deal. Hopefully since I am traveling in October I will receive a pin in the upcoming months I can apply.

I always recommend booking air seperately, because you can find the best deal for your travels that way.

Booking later in the year you will be okay. Even if you don't get a pin, there will probably be a room discount or package deal that gets announced this summer. You can call and have your ressie swapped to those deals as well. There is never a reason to do WDW full price, IMO, unless you go during Christmas week, Easter week, or over a major holiday weekend.

I got the same deal this morning and felt the same way. GRRRR I want a better deal. But at least I'm on their radar to possibly get another deal. We are going no matter what it is just a matter of how we go. I'm a bargain shopper so I figured I have at least 8 more months to find a better deal for our trip in OCT. I am sooooo excited to go and finding these boards are making me even more anxious.
