Very disappointed in Poly food review.

We are staying at Poly in Sept and we have ADRs for Kona (Lunch) O'hana (Dinner) and O'Hana (Breakfast). We are going to keep the Kona and O'Hana (Dinner) ADRs, but I think we will skip the O'Hana Breakfast. I would rather eat at Kona for breakfast or another restaurant on the monorail.

We are doing several character meals during the 9 days we will be there so I believe that skipping the O'Hana breakfast is not a big deal as the food quality is more important to us than the characters.

Also, are there only Lilo and Stitch at the breakfast? That seems to me to be a small number of characters for such a large restaurant. I know that other character meals at least have four or more characters. Only two seems like that is a problem.

Writing/emailing Disney is the only way things have a chance of improving. Unfortunately, very few people do this.

It is Lilo, Stitch, & "Friends." In April, when we went we had Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Stitch, & Lilo.

If that is true, then how is it that it took 45 minutes for them to see their first character.

That is REALLY bad management. I would much rather go to Chef Mickey's or even 1900 Park Fare.

I just want to say the Captain Cooks has a turkey club on their menu that is fresh and delicious. We will go over to Poly just for this sandwich. We don't eat inside there though. We have had this in Dec, June, and Aug, and it was great everytime:)

Well, technically I did not 'review' Kona - I mentioned that I find it a place that is pretty much mediocre. We had lunch there with the family and nothing at all stood out as exceptional. Didn't say I hated it, or that I wouldn't go back. It needs improving. As for praising the room service that comes from Kona - that was breakfast - I was there for lunch, and again - I didn't do a review.

For Ohana to change, people will have to start speaking up and not accepting crap food in exchange for character interaction, especially when there are great locations on property that can do both. We have no personal agenda against Ohana - we just find the food to be consistently sub-par. If they fix the food situation, and organize the character interaction a little better - they could return to the days when Ohana deserved it's "must-do" status. Ohana used to be one of my favorite restaurants and it's damn sad that it's been allowed to slide as low as it has.

Pete, I agree 100%. O'hana's dinner apparently is lacking now-a-days as well. I really encourage everyone who has poor service, food, etc. at ANY restaurant to let someone know...preferably when you are at the restaurant, not after you get home. If you are uncomfortable doing this or can't for some reason, contact Disney when you get home. It's the only way that things can be changed and the proper people notified.

As a side note, I also strongly believe in contacting Disney when a cast member is doing something very well. This happened this morning when my mother was on the phone with DVC's member services. The CM was outstanding and very patient. We will be contacting Disney with her name and complimenting on her service.
