Very Confused-any help appreciated

I'm very confused about discount codes. How does this work? Let me see if I'm right. If i was to stay at a Disney Hotel in September would i book it now and then when the discount codes came out i would call up and give them that? Can anybody use them? Where do they come from? And is it smart to book reservations before the codes come out and then call afterwards with the codes? And is that the proper procedure just calling reservations and saying, " I have a discount code", i give it to them and i get it? Any guidance or help or anything would be appreciated. Sorry for so many questions- thanks in advance

P.S.-typically(past years) what type of discount do these give you in September?

You can book the room now, and then call to have a code applied if and when one comes out for the time period you are looking at.

There are some codes that are available to anyone. There are some codes that are available only to Annual Passholders, or Florida residents. If you look on www.mousesavers.com, you can clearly see which codes are available for anyone, and which ones have requirements. This board is also a great source to find out what codes are available--someone is always excitedly posting their most recent deal.

I like to book my room before the codes come out just to make sure I have a room, especially if I have my heart set on a certain resort.

If you do book a room, and then call to apply it to your reservation, just tell the cast member that you have a code that you would like to see is available for your stay.
