I keep getting messages with a bunch of squares on them - no writing at all

I thought those were japanese messages. Our computers can't do those symbols, so they just do squares. I coudl be wrong though!

I just received yet another one, a very long one, just squares.That's about the 10th today. Do you think someone is very bored (or boring) and deliberately sending loads of them out, or could it be a fault?

I always just "translate them" for the next person, so other people can have something to respond to. If a Japanese person gets it later, they can respond to the original message.

My computer can do Japanese symbols (you can download/install the component) and many are still turning up as boxes.

On the Bottleparty forums (for oceangram) someone said it was japanese. Also, ocassionally I have seen english words writtne amongst the squares and it was always about Tokyo or Japan. That's why I figured it was japanese. But I could be wrong.

Some of the ones I'm getting are Japanese and I just resend them. But many that I get are just boxes.

Hmmm, most perplexing, mking624. What if it were Chinese or another language that uses symbols that we don't? Would your computer show those?

Just wondering, cause if it is just someone typing boxes for fun, I'm gonna start chucking them too!

Yup, mine shows those as well.

It just seems odd that they all just started flooding in today.
