After speaking with Cm's at Vero I just thought I would let everyone know the options offered on Thanksgiving at Vero Beach.

They are offering a buffet for $24.95 adults, $13.95 children (under 11). They didn't mention where this would take place, but another poster had said last year, right after Thanksgiving, when they went to Vero, there were tents set up, and it was obvious this is where they had the buffet.

They mentioned that Shutters would be open for bfast, lunch and dinner on Thursday, but to make ressies NOW

We opted for the third option, ordering a precooked meal to be picked up on Wednesday and heated on Thursday in our room from Publix (corner of US1 and Barber). The small dinner option which served 7-10 is $35.99, included the regular, turkey, stuffing, mash potatoes, gravy and a veggie and possibly cranberries, if I remember correctly. I also added on a corn casserole and a sweet potatoe casserole. We save much more with this offer than with the buffet with our family of five, plus I think it will be much nicer to just have our family celebrate in the room. I plan on getting a couple of candles to add to the festivities.

We love doing this, having a quiet family meal, then going swimming to work it off without the hassle of actually having to slave in a kitchen all day. This is just a little different than when we stay home in COLD Chicago, and either cook all day and have immediate family over then join a big family group later for desert, or join the rest of the family (50 plus people) for a loud and often out of control day, lol. Ya gotta love it.

The number for Vero Beach is 561-234-2000 and the number for Publix is 561-581-5755, then just push the deli option.

I don't know if this helps anyone, but just thought I would throw this out there.

On a completely different side note, I asked about grills at VB and was told they still had none. As for miniature golf fees, for DVC members, it is $1 per play, or $5 for unlimited use during your trip.

Best wishes

Thanks for the info. I'm not sure whether the tent is used for the buffet or not. The tent is a semi-permanent set up that they use for group events and weddings.

The tent has been there for the last three years we've visited.

Publix dinner sounds like a nice option, maybe that would be good for non-thanksgiving vacation dining. I heard they were also building a Bob Evans in Vero. We like to pick up some of their large food orders, quarts of soup, slaw, biscuts, turkey dinner for 4, etc. which would make great "low fuss" vacation meals. Fridge to microwave to table with great flavor, and easy cleanup. No lines, no difficult cooking, no hassle.

Called VB to ask about options on Thanksgiving. PS is available at the following:

Shutters, open 11:30 - 2:45 and 5 - 10 PM.

Sonyas, open 11 - 2

The Sea Grape Room (the convention room, on the second floor I think) is where all parties of 6 or more are placed and serves from 11- 4:30.
