Vero or HHI for Easter..what to do

Here is the situation....we have to drive this trip. 15 hours to HHI and about 19 to Vero from Illinois. I have HHI already reserved in a one bedroom for the week and did check on Vero and I would need to waitlist two of the nights but the others are available.

We just got back from HHI in August

Any comments on where to spend spring break? Has anyone stayed at both and prefer one over the other for that time of year. Any comments on driving that FAR!! YIKES...this would be our first ever road trip!

I agree with your pros and cons. We love both resorts and VB would definitely be warmer, but unless you have the points to cover ressies at both to play chicken with the waitlist I would say that "A bird in hand" thing. Usually the waitlist at VB is a higher chance of success, but not on a holiday week.

I've never stayed at HHI, it's not for lack of trying. I have school age kids and I want to go in the summer, not when it's cold. I've tried the past 2 years but at 7 month I can't get in when I want. Hope lives eternal so I'll keep trying.

You don't say if this is an adult vacation or are there kids involved, that would be my determining factor. My son would prefer the beach, if it were cold in Hilton Head, of course there's no way of forecasting what will happen in late March. We love the Vero Beach resort, but we've had colder weather in March too!

Boy, I guess I'm no help at all! I don't really like to waitlist myself, I prefer to just book and know for sure! Good Luck!

2 girls ages 5 and 9 who love to swim but mainly love the pool and the pool slide. I guess either way I have a chance of it being cooler but I know my chances are much greater in HHI and a little worried about 7 days of cool weather. I guess both pools are heated so that may help.

Decisions, Decisions. Really leaning towards keeping the ressie at HHI. We know we like it, it is much closer and very few points for a weeks stay during a holiday.
