For any of you Vero experts, what are the advantages of either? Just hubby and me--looking at New Year's Eve at Vero.

We have only stayed in OVIR and 1bdrm. Both me and my DH loved the space of the 1 bdrm and we had a view of the ocean in it. But we prefer the OVIR. There is just nothing like it. We were on the 4th floor and the view was breathtaking. We like being in the Inn for the lounge. :goodvibes

Studios have one queen bed and one sofabed. OVIR have two queen beds. You get the kitchenette in both. The biggest difference in my opinion is the view. I go to VB for the ocean, and when I am there, I want to look out my balcony and see it! LOL! Be sure to ask for a high floor - like fourth. Higher you are, better the view. That view is just AWESOME. Enjoy!

Just remember the catagory is Ocean View Inn Room and can be facing east (ocean front), north or south(pool).

So I should ask for a high floor ocean view, right? Any experience during the holidays? Not sure what to expect of the resort during the New Year's holiday, but it seems to be rather full.

By definition you will not need to request an ocean view with an OVIR. You may want to request 'oceanfront'. for a straight on view.

ETA: I just like to warn people that Ocean view could be a view to the left or right of their balcony. So they won't get too upset at the poor CM's if they are assigned one of those rooms.

We were there this past New Year's, and yes the resort was full, but it did not seem overly crowded. We arrived on the 29th and left on Jan. 4th. The resort had New Year's activities around the pool - games, dance contests, all very family oriented. Some people jumped in the pool - fully clothed - at midnight. LOL! The weather was great the first three days, then they had the first freeze they had had in 3 or 4 years. Very, Very cold. Like low 30's, so that really inhibited pool/ocean activities. Maybe you will get lucky and NOT have a freeze this year.

I posted the same question a couple of weeks ago at the 7 month booking window. Every person who posted preferred the Inn room over a studio. Even the CM I spoke to when I booked said that most people think the Inn room is better. We ended up booking 2 OVIR instead of a 2 bedroom b/c we could not get the 2BR for one night of our stay. I didn't really care b/c we are only there 3 nights and moving to a 2BR at BCV.

Thanks for the info. We decided on the ocean view inn room, too. We waitlisted for WDW, but we will enjoy Vero too I'm sure.

I'm leaving for VB next week for the first time, and I'm soo excited! My DH and I are celebrating our anniversary, and we booked a studio. Are there studios in the Inn?? We wanted to be in the Inn, but I don't know if that's possible with a studio? Can we get an Ocean View if we booked a Studio? Is there anything I should request..
I know that the Inn rooms have 2 double beds, and the studios have one bed, but is that the only difference? Are the studios not located in the INn?
We are more interested in the location of the room.. Thank you!

Studios are not in the Inn. The Inn has the OVIR and GVIR.

The studios are in the villa buildings. I just returned from Vero and I can see why people rave about the OVIR. The beachfront rooms must have a fantastic view. We stayed in a 1 BR villa (1539), which one of the mouse keepers told us was her favorite villa view. It was absolutely fantastic. I am sure that the studio next to ours had a pretty decent view, too. I don't know how we got so lucky!

Anyway, studio or not, the resort is pretty compact and it is a quick walk to everything. I really enjoyed my stay and I hope to return in the future. The quick walk from the room to the pool to the ocean and back again was a breeze. I liked being in the villa area because it seemed like a world away (very quiet), yet so close. I hope you have a great trip!

I have stayed in an OVIR and also a 2 bedroom. I don't care where I stay at Vero I just love it.
