I am looking for some information about Vero Beach. I know that there is a character meal, but could someone tell me when it is, and what kind of meal is it? I know that it is Breakfast, I mean is it plated, do you order off the menu or it is a buffet?

Also, how bad is the view of a garden room, we have people that might be coming with us and we would need to borrow points so if the view isn't terrible I would think about booking a garden view for them.

Could someone also tell me is it better to stay in the Inn or should we look at a studio, I think being closer to the main building would be nice, but those of you that have stayed there might know more.

Lastly the Un Birthday party what day is it on and how hard is it to get in for it? Do they take PS for it?

Thanks

I can't help with all of your questions, but will say that the Garden Views sometimes overlook the parking lots. If you're not sitting out on your balcony - I don't think it really matters. The OVIR vs. the studio question comes up often on this board. We've stayed in the OVIR's twice and loved that we had an ocean view from our room. Before, the studios had views of foliage - not the ocean; however, with the changes since the hurricanes - it's possible that the views from the studios are much better than they used to be. We really think we prefer being in the Inn at VB, but that's just our preference. About the UnBirthday Party. I don't have any experience with it, but it seems like I remember reading that if the resort is crowded, it is best to be there when recreation area opens to secure a spot.

We went to VB last March, and because I was interested in a character meal, I called. It was scheduled for Saturday brunch hours and Goofy was one of the characters. I'm only getting this from my notes, because we weren't going to be there on Saturday.

We had a garden view and it was more of a street (the private driving area that leads to the underground garage) view, but we were just happy to be there. There was a balcony, and the view was somewhat blocked by the trees so that was nice. We ate breakfast on the balcony, so no, it wasn't awful.

Because there are 2 beds in the inn rooms, we thought we would go with a studio the next time,(we like the idea of a sofa for watching TV) but when it came down to it, on both of our next two stays we've booked the oceanview room for both ourselves and our guests.

The character meal is a breakfast and it is on Sat. They sometimes add a Wednesday breakfast during busy times.

The meal is pre-plated and I'm not sure you can order off the regular menu at that time.

We have never had a garden view. I don't think the view would be that bad. You may overlook the parking lot but it shouldn't matter if you are not going to be in your room that much. We have always opted for the ocean view because we love to look at it and listen to it day and night.

You can sign up for the unbirthday party once you arrive. They offer 2 different ones for 2 different age groups. They will not take a PS for the birthday party.

We've also never stayed in a studio. We liked the convenience of being in the Inn. Now that our kids are getting a little older we may try a studio but the Ocean View Inn Room is our #1 choice.

Our DS tried the Snorkelears program at the resort and loved it. He is now anxious to snorkel every chance he gets.

Enjoy your trip. :flower1:

We're going in August and staying ina 2 bedroom villa. I requested an ocean view and was told that there aren't any. What type of views do the 2 bedroom villas have? Thanks
