Vero Beach

You got lucky. We went just hoping it was as wonderful as we heard...plus had points to burn! They are wonderful. Wish there was more to do there so we could bring the family. But I think my kids would be so bored.

My boys 12&17 love VB. We book a Beach Cottage so I think that helps. Beach/pool/mini golf and a refillable mug they are hog heaven. But DH & I love it too.

My kids...really adults - 23, 20. And 17. They are very used to HHI and all there is to do there. My DH and I just loved Vero! And look forward to going back. I would love to do Thanksgiving in a cottage but I don't think it is very easy to get at 7 months.

I own at VB and to get one of the cottages(especially anytime it's not Premier season, you have to be on it at the 11 month window).

I would guess it is impossible to get the cottage at any holiday time. I wish I saw Vero Beach I would have bought enough points there to get the cottage every other year. We love hilton head ...vacationed there even before disney...but wished they had something like the cottage!!!

We debated over buying the Marriott Ocean Pointe resort, but went with DVC VB as we didn't want a huge high rise resort. We decided to go BC on every trip when we banked our points the year we did our long Hawaii trip, then had extra points the following year.

They do let you see the sold out resorts.

April 7, 2013 6:30pm we had just finished dinner at Olivia's (OKW). I went over to the DVC desk and asked to see a 2 bedroom villa as we were thinking of purchasing one. Within 15 minutes we were in a DVC van being driven (by 2 DVC staff - one was being trained) to the villa (myself, husband, and three kids). We had a tour of a empty villa.

We came home and bought 240 resale OKW points.

All you have to do is ask to see an empty room - if they have one available they will show you it.

We had two groups of people vacationing in Orlando. 4 of us at AKL and 3 of us at SSR. We didn't do parks during this trip. We called Vero and asked if we could come. We stopped at the front desk and they gave us a day pass for each group. That gave us access to the beach and to the pool. I think we could have showered after if we had decided to use either one. Also, I think it is okay to play the miniature golf when your're visiting. Not sure about renting a bike, etc. We had lunch in the Green Cabin Room. Really a lovely afternoon. They said it was always a good idea to call first when you visit.
