I attended the SSR condo meeting last Thursday. Jim Lewis mentioned that they had just settled with insurance for the repairs at Vero. Insurance covered all damages and there would be no special assessment.

Thank you! I'm the one in the family who really really wanted to buy and use VB and I never did mention a special assessment to DH!

Of course I wouldn't have minded paying it if we needed to. It's better to pay and keep our DVC Resorts in tip-top shape, rather than have them go to the dogs.

The special assessment for VB members was also mentioned in the Q&A session at the OKW meeting last week. A member asked about it & was told the special assessment would not be collected ... this decision was made after the budget went out to members. However, the DVC Treasurer did state that members still had to pay their annual dues !

annual dues at VB are close to $800 now (for 150 points) - that is a lot, considering what $800 can buy in cash
