Vero Beach Restaurants

Hi,
Can anybody recommend any good value places to eat near VB. I think I know about most of the "upscale" places but was wondering if there are any family diners of buffets etc.

Woody's BBQ, on US 1 in Sebastian, was really good.

Captain Hiram's, which seems to get good reviews here, was mediocre at best (food and service).

Orchid Pizza, right next to the resort, was ok. The hoagies were good but the pizza was so so.

I know they scour the VB post like me so Im sure they will respond soon! No pressure you guys!

I like Squid Lips for casual and Ocean Grille for nice dinnig out. Stay away from VB pizza.. YUCK! Orchid Island Pizza is very good IMHO. I just wish they didnt put up that new barrier fence that prevents me from cutting through by the water main at the North End of the resort. Now its take an entire 8 mins to walk there where before it was only 4 mins!

VB Google Map

I just placed a bunch of stores (green) and restaurants (blue) that I found address. I've only been to the Publix and Capt. Hirams so can't attest to the accuracy but it should give a good idea of the lay of the land.

I've never linked to someone else's map. Can you zoom, change to satellite view, etc?

Oh I forgot we did order Pizza at Orchid Island Pizza had it delivered to the lobby (although the DH walked over to get the menu) and had a picnic on the beach! My little one still remembers that dinner! The pizza was good but was a thin NYC style crust. We were used to a thicker heartier crust and would have ordered a bit more 'za for our dinner. They had a ton of different topping choices and specialty pizzas. I just pulled the menu out and they also had a bunch of pasta, and hot sub choices (cold too just not as many).

We had a great time at Capt. Hiram's Sand Bar. I'm not sure if it was the food, the fun atmosphere, the live music ....or the drinks. Those aren't Disney drinks they serve!! (somehow I don't think it was really the food!)

Country Eggs and Ham in Sebastain serves dinner some nights - very good and reasonable food!

I totally forgot I have no idea how to get to Vero from MCo or get up to WDW after our Vero stay.
