Hi

We will be heading to Vero beach for a week on 7th August. It will be our first visit and I was wondering if anyone can give me any advice about the activities that are scheduled, specifically ones that will appeal to a 6 year old girl.

DD is an only child and loves to get involved in anything that is on offer usually.

Also, they offer any evening activites for kids, either along the lines of the kids clubs at wdw or the kids night out at HHI.

Many thanks in advance.

I'm not sure if they do anything different in August than they do in March but we were there in March 2009. My little grandsons had a great time there. One morning they did a nature walk with a guide, they went to a kids only "Happy Unbirthday party" at the Community hall and in the evenings we all went to the campfire sing along. Of course, there's always the pool where the kids all have a great time. The boys were 7 and 5 and our granddaughter was 1.

I know that there were other activities too but we were there for such a short time..

Have a great trip!

My daughter -age 11- did an origami activity (free) in the lobby one afternoon and then made a shark tooth necklace (for a fee-not sure how much-less than $10) in the gazebo at the pool on another day. She enjoyed both.

We were there with our three kids one being a six year old girl in June... she loved it!

We did daily slide races, painted a tile, made shark necklaces, did the unbirthday party, bingo, fingerpainting, mini golf, campfires, turtle program, even did the famed night turtle walk! (I think I left some stuff out too)
It was wonderful... my girls loved it, so many things to do we actually ran out of time! I thought the activities CM were super sweet and accomodating too.

They did have a kids club one night while they had a wine tasting thing for parents. We did not do that because my two little ones are not old enough!

My six year old liked our vero days better than our WDW days!

Our DGC 5, 6 and 7 loved to do the arts and crafts. They have so much fun, and the projects are very nice.

Thanks for the replies sounds like dd will have a great time.
Can't wait only a week to go :banana::banana:

How do the activities work as far as do you drop them off for the activity or are you expected to stay there with them?

My DD7 did the clay dragon making which she loved. The shark tooth necklace was also a big hit and also the Mickey plate making. We dropped her off at CH and returned in an hour. I actually got an hour massage when she was at the Unbirthday Party. Sign up for hair braiding too. All the girls from ages 4-12 had them . Eb and Flo has example's of all the crafts which helped my DD decide what to sign up for!

Thanks for the info my DS11 is really looking forward to doing some of the activities. I hope my DS15 won't be bored.
