Vero Beach Question - Nearby Hotels

My family is going to be at VB in April. My parents have since making our reservation decided to join us. It appears that we may not be able to get them a reservation at VB and was wondering if anyone had any suggetions on nearby hotel - Condo's that they could stay at.

There is no hotel in the immediate (i.e. walking) distance. The Disney resort is actually north of Vero Beach proper and in a ritzy residential area.

That said, if you come out of the resort and head down A1A you'll be into Vero in about 15-20 minutes. There is a Holiday Inn right on the beach (near the Ocean Grill which is a great restaurant). I've known people who stayed here prior to Disney opening and they liked it very much. There are several hother hotels in that area as well but off-hand I can't remember the names. Gloria Estefan recently bought a hotel as well but I believe they had heavy hurricane damage. Not sure if they opened this season.

Many if not most of the coastal hotels were damaged by the fall storms and are not open or have limited rooms. Check soon if you need a room. On the mainland near I95 are more choices and are not that far away. Good luck, wishing you lots of pixie dust.
