We spent Saturday through Monday over the Labor Day weekend at VB and had a great time. The resort was filled to capacity, so Priority Seating was a must for dinner and breakfast. The pool area was over-crowded, but we prefer the beach.

The waves were crashing on Sunday and it was great fun. Disney has shored up the beach with added sand where the sand meets the vegetation/cliff area on the beach. This was only noticeable along the resort property. The ocean water was murkey, almost muddy with sand - I'm not sure if this was just natural or if it was a result of the added sand. I don't think there has been too much recent storm activity, and th water is usually much clearer. You could see it was clearer further out.

We ate at Shutters both nights and enjoyed both meals very uch, escpecially the fresh fish in the Tropical Trio, my favorite. My wife loves the Healthy Floridian breakfast, which included 10 different fruits, yogurt, granola and a muffin. I helped out with the fruit, just so I wouldn't be labelled an unhealthy Floridian.

Our only complaint was that we were placed in a handicapped studio without being told. It was a strange setup. The bed was only a full size - not a queen or larger. The hand-held shower device could not be attached to the sliding pole (it was just hanging) and the fixed shower head was pointing right out towards the tile and the shower curtain. Since it was a walk-in shower (with a folding seat), the fixed showerhead flooded the entire bathroom as the water followed the grout lines. We solved the problem by rolling up towels and creating a dam, but it was a "dam" nuisance. All I ask is that I am told in advance about this kind of room and that I have the choice to accept or reject.

The Green Cabin porch was great. CM Doug provided great service, pizza and pina coladas. There were no roving perverts!

The PS seating was slow. We had to wait 30 minutes one night and then noticed vacant tables, so I think they were just trying to provide the kitchen and servers with a chance to keep up. The first morning we did not have PS and they would not seat us until one of only a few two-seat tables opened up. I made PS for the next morning to nip that int the bud!

The new moon did not come up in the west until several hours after dark, so you could walk down the boardwalk to the beach at night and have a great view of bright Mars to the SE, the Big Dipper to the north, the entire huge Scorpio constellation to the SW, and the Milky Way traversing the entire sky - something we rarely see in the city.

We drove home to Tampa on Monday, and once again VB had that magic of making a short vacation feel much longer. We really like that resort, our home away from home!

A lovely report which I enjoyed reading. Thank you. :D

Thanks for the great report!

The surf in SE Fla is very murky if there are any waves, which are usually closely-spaced and choppy.

Thanks for the report.

Just made our ressies for VB in March 04. This will be our 2nd trip and the kids are excited to use the slide again.

We had the handicapped room at HH on one of our trips and by your description it sounded the same. The front desk gave us that choice or wait 3 hours for a regular room. After an 11 hour drive we opted for the available room. Next time we will wait.

Thanks for the great report!! We can't wait to go back in June.

P.S. I like your username.

Thansk for the report. Glad you had an enjoyable trip, overall.
You are so right when you say that Vero give you that "been on Vacation" feeling even when it is only a short trip. I have stayed there for one night, way too short, but it still felt like a vacation.

Can' wait to go back. You didn' mention the campfire-is it still going strong?
