I've read quite a few threads relating to Vero Beach and the difference between the Inn vs. the Studio room. I understand that the Inn Oceanview room is the guaranteed view of the ocean and that the Studio doesn't really have a view of the ocean.

Can anyone tell me which room is bigger? There's only two of us.

Which room is less walking distance from the "main action" (beach, lounge, lobby, parking, etc)?

Well, I don't know much but you don't seem to have alot of responses but here goes. The inn rooms are in the main building which is where the restaurants are and is close to the beach and pool. But with such a small resort, this is not a major issue as most buildings are pretty close to the pool and beach.

I think the rooms are comparable in size, but I have no hard evidence. I believe that the inn rooms have two double or queen beds and the studios have a queen and pull out sofa.

Either way, it is a beautiful resort and I really want to go back for a few days next June if I can talk my husband into it.

We would never do a studio at VB. Just because the size difference between the studio and the Inn room isn't significant. With the studio you are guaranteed not to have an ocean view. With the Inn room (ocean view) you have the most fantastic view OVERLOOKING the ocean. You can get up in the morning and sit on your balcony to watch the ocean sunrise. We typically alternate from year to year between the Inn room and a 1-bdrm because we really like the full kitchen and laundry of the 1-bdrm, but love the ocean view. If you choose an Inn room be sure to arrive early (before noon) to give yourself the best chance of getting a true ocean view room. Some rooms are called ocean view but don't actually face the ocean so be sure to ask for a room facing the ocean.

One of the things we really love about VB is how close everything is. Everything you mentioned is no more than a 2 minute walk from anywhere in the resort. We like to walk down to the beach early, stake our claim and setup camp. Then we will do the beach for a couple hours, go to the pool for a while, go back to the room for a snack, lunch, drink, use the bathroom, etc. Then go back down to the beach and... you get the picture.

FYI, below is a blurb I cut and paste for people asking about what there is to do at VB.

Have a great trip :beach:

They have a nice pool & Lighthouse waterslide, a hot jet pool, miniature golf, exercise room, ping pong, bike rentals, The Green Cabin Room (bar/restaurant) has 2nd floor covered deck that has a fantastic view of the ocean and is a nice place to relax with your favorite beverage. It also has live entertainment in the evenings. At night they have a campfire / s’more roast (bring the Cutter Advanced to fend off the No-see-ums). You can rent a small catamaran or jet-ski for ocean fun. Across the street they have a lake, picnic tables, nature trail, tennis courts, and basketball courts. Disney built a private tunnel under the road to access this area.

Five minutes away is Pelican Island and a wildlife education center. Also minutes away is Sebastian Inlet were the Indian River meets the ocean. There are many good fishing spots around the inlet, and there are river excursions where you can see dolphins, manatee, and tons of other types of wildlife. About an hour away is Cape Canaveral, (where the Magic and Wonder dock), the Kennedy Space Center, and Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge with walking and driving tours.

I don't know if I agree with "With the studio you are guaranteed not to have an ocean view." because all of the 2 BR lockoffs are in the back of ("Ocean Side") of the Villas but I do agree that it is a role of the dice. I do agree however that the Inn is the way to go over the Studio's IMHO. You are close to the Lobby, Resteraunts, and most important the morning fill the mug with coffee ritual!!! ;)

You will love VB it is DVC's little scret slice of paradise!

The third and 4th floor corner rooms should have a decent view but that's about it. Other than if one just wants the sofa or is doing a lockoff 2 BR for part of the time, I can't think of any other reasons to consider a studio over an Inn room unless the Inn room is not available. I'd put them in the order of preference of an Oceanview Inn room, Gardenview Inn Room then studio.

The inn rooms are huge, we were there in August this year. We had garden view and at that time of the year with those no see um bugs I would never waste the extra points for ocean view.

The windows for the doors were completely soaked due to high humidity and as soon as you step on the balcony those bugs start biting.

So I guess it depends on when you travel, if there's no bugs and no high humidity, then ocean view would be great. Otherwise, garden view would be fine.

Wow... We've been to VB 8 times (last time was August for us too). I just LOVE the ocean view, and I have never had a no-see-um bite me on my balcony. It was definitely hot, but we didn't have any moisture collection on our door or windows. Maybe you all had your A/C set a lot lower than us. :confused3
