I would like to do a beach vacation next spring. Would Vero Beach be fun for older teens, or does it seem overrun with little ones and kiddie activities? My teens are mostly interested in shopping, eating out and tanning. Thanks for your input.:)

I have taken teens there. They enjoyed tanning, the beach, sports (volleyball, tennis, etc) , the pool. You would have to drive them into town to shop.

We stayed for 2 days (I had 2 teens and a 20 y.o. with me at the time) and they enjoyed it. Anything longer than 2 days my kids would have been bored.

My DS(14 at the time) like Vero for the one 5 day trip, but won't go back now. "It's tooooo boring". I love Vero, so I'll guess we'll wait a few years and go again when he's away at college.

My son who is 26 went last week and said that is was kind of slow. He enjoyed it but would rather have more action. I don't think we will have as many days there next time if he goes. Maybe 5 at OKW and 2 or 3 at VB. It is a really slow paced location and some just don't like that for vacation.

My son, who was 16 at the time, talked us into buying DVC points after visiting Vero Beach. He loved it immediately. Went back at 19 and felt the same way. Next year I'm giving him and his girlfriend (who will both be 25 by then and she's never been to Florida before) a couple of nights there before they join the rest of the family at OKW.

I think the key thing though is that he has never done longer than 3 days there and so didn't have time to get bored with it and came away enchanted both times.
