Vero beach experts

Will be going to Vero for 2 nites in October. Have stayed once before in an ocean view room, which is what I have this time. I forgot what floor we were on, can anyone tell me what floor has the best views, how many floors are in the inn. Should I have tried for a studio instead. Also what can we do in the Vero area. I like the pool at Vero, but the ocean has a huge dropoff to get in the water in front of the resort. Is this normal or was this only when I was there a few years ago. Thanks for any help.

By far not a VB expert, like some others here (starbox, DisDaydreamer, etc) , but have been a few times. A lot of great info can be found in this thread:

If you want an ocean view forget about the studio, you have only 2 chances of an ocean view in a studio 1) SLIM , 2) NONE. Sometimes pxiedust can happen, but don't count on it.

If you are talking about the sand on beach before you get to the water, sometimes it is like that, sometimes not. On one trip we had - one day the beach was smooth and even, the next day after a storm that night, there was a 3' drop off about 2/3 of the way to the water. Just another one of the amazing things about VB!

When in October? We usually do a Anniversary weekend in Oct.

We are booked for Oct. 14 and 15. We did like it before since we only relax there, it is so different that WDW which always seems so busy, even though we say we will relax we never do at Disney.

Us too! We actually did it over Memorial Day. Two nights in a 2BR @ Kidani Village with some friends. NO PARKS But we did go to Poly for Dinner @ Ohana w/ fireworks view!

Looks like it will be Oct 23-25 for us this year. Our Anniversary and my B'day are on the 19th.

My DH's birthday is Oct. 19, but we will be home by then. We are leaving and traveling over Columbus weekend and that week, which gives DH the extra day off for Columbus day. We were leaving on Sat the 10 of oct, but now I have managed to talk dh into leaving Thurs nite . I don't think i can make it any earlier. So now we'll be gone for 11 days instead of 9. I love to travel.
