Does anyone have any opinions on the DVC Vero Beach Resort? How does it compare amenities wise? Is the resort fully functional after the hurricanes (I know the Vero Beach area was hot hard).

I am curious because I might have the opportunity to stay at the resort in late summer/early fall for the very first time.

I have an opinion on the Vero Beach resort. I LOVE it. It is my favorite of the DVC properties. It is a very different experience from staying at a WDW DVC resort. Very quiet and restful. The pool and grounds are wonderful. You can stay in the Inn, which is the centerpiece of the resort, or in one of the villa buildings. The villa buildings have the studio, one and two bedrooms while the inn building has hotel rooms. And then there are the six beach cottages which are in a class by themselves. The resort is very small, which keeps it nice and quiet. There are planned activities during the day to keep people busy if they want, or you can curl up with a good by on the beach or by the pool. The resort has two full service restaurants, pool side snack bar, wonderful bar/lounge overlooking the ocean and a small store. We have not been back since the hurricanes, but from what I hear, the resort is back up and running again better than ever. The same can't be said for the area around the resort. I think the town of Vero and the areas around the resort are still repairing and cleaning up after the storms.

If you have a chance to go I would highly recommend it. It is a very special place.

We stayed at Vero Beach for the first time the night before our December cruise. We loved the resort and will definately go back again. Everything was in great shape around the resort. The area around the resort is still showing some signs of being hit hard.

We had both breakfast and dinner there and the service and food were both excellent!

Love it. Restful, peaceful, full service, Disney touches and Disney service. We love the Green Cabin room lounge and nightly singers they have there, and balconey overlooking the ocean. I'm not sure I know of another bar/lounge with entertainment that is a friendly to children as the Green Cabin room. We rarely leave the resort for activities, but the Outlet Mall and Mall are available about 20 minutes away, along with several nice restaraunts. Another fun place 10 minutes away is Captain Hyrams (sp). Enjoy.

I concur with the above sentiments. Vero is a GREAT resort and my favorite of the DVC's as well. Provided you enjoy spending some time at either the pool or the beach it has everything you could want on-site and plenty more nearby. My 7 year old just had a great time last week at WDW but still prefers going to Vero. As you can see...we're counting the days.

This is our home resort - we absolutely love it and miss it when we are away! The staff is friendly, the rooms are nice, the food is good. There is lots to do, or do nothing. It is small, but we never ever feel crowded - how do they do that? :)

I haven't set up a counter - but we will be there in 46 days!

My wife and I were at Vero the beginning of Dec., (after the huricanes). Everything at the resort was up and running. Most of the buildings not part of the resort were heavily damaged. Most of the people staying at the resort were line crews repairing the telephone and electric lines in the area. Since we never left the resort it didn't bother us at all. Having been to the resort we knew how to get there but most of the road signs after you got off 95 were blow away or damaged. The resort looks different now that the pier and most of the dune and vegitation are gone, but if you have never been there before you won't know the difference. The beach was actually wider than it ever was before. Next week we are going back to Vero. I now only worry about the temperature - it has been cold there recently, although it was -16 degrees below zero in Albany, NY this morning.

Wow, you live in celabration Florida? What a wonderful place. We love Vero as well, and I agree it doesn't fee crowded. I don't know how the pool area could have ever accomodated additional units across the street.

"May god bless this wonderful day for democracy."
