Vero beach at 48$ a point...why would I chose AKL over this one?

I plan on lots of October vacations....we were looking into AKL...but its 97$ a point even with its current discount. But if I go Vero Beach through a resale company, I can get points around 48$ a point or so, and to the best of my knowledge, the only difference in a home resort is that you can book 11 months out at your home resort, and 7 at another wdw resort. I dont think there will be any difficulties getting AKL 7 mos out for october.....why would I choose AKL??

Any help here from the experienced dis nutz will be appreciated

I will comment only on the difficulty of getting AKV at 7 months - I had two waitlists out there for different time frames last year that were for AKV 2 BR made at the 7 month point. One was for the last two days of Sept and first 4 of Oct - It did not come through - the other I really did not expect to get as it was the week after Christmas and I was right as it also did not come through. If you are willing to take other resorts then Oct at 7 months is certainly an option. It can also depend on what size villa you are looking for. I was pleasantly surprised to call yesterday and get a SV view studio at Jambo for my son (college graduation trip) for the middle of May. Our first choice was BCV but I knew before I called that was not going to happen. Of course if he had said something about it awhile ago I could have used the BCV points before the short time frame we now have. If you will be using those points for WDW vacations only I would definitely pay the extra for a WDW resort so you can always have that October reservation somewhere on site and then try for the change at 7 months if you want to stay somewhere else. I would probably go with OKW or SSR resale but that is because I really like those two and will never be unhappy if they are the only places I can stay and the maintenance fees are low.
