RCI just called - they have a 2 bedroom on hold for me here. Need to make a quick decision!

Should I hold out for a 3 bedroom?

We have never been before, is the resort nice? Things to do for teens and 2 year olds?

We would be travelling on July 9, 2011.

Advice would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks! :)

I believe there are only 6 or so 3BRs at Vero Beach. Take the 2BR

id take it, there are maybe six max of the beach cottages, they are nice, but what I didnt realize was you can't walk out to the beach from them.

i was noticing that most of the activities for kids start at 3 years old. LO will be two, think we should wait a summer?

Honestly, I think you should skip it entirely ANY summer - it's miserably hot & humid! I live in FL and have been here for 24 years so I should be used to it. I could barely stand being on the beach from 9-11 each morning....after that it was too hot, and I was sweating like a pig those 2 hours. FL beaches are not cooler like beaches up north. I won't waste my time going to Vero in July....it's just not pleasant at all.

If you're trading in, surely there's a more northern beach you can trade into?

We're from Ohio. We've been to both Vero and Hilton Head in the summer. While it is hot we love them both.We love the warm ocean water and the pools. You're at the beach! What could be better!

I have to disagree. I don't find the summer to be hot & humid at Vero Beach, but then again I was born and raised in Florida. After all it's a beach resort. If you get hot, there is an entire ocean to go in not to mention the pool. I say go for it and to answer your original question, hold on to the two bedroom. I was onlt able to get an Inn style room for my travel dates.

is there enough to do for a week at vero? or will we get bored?

I walked out to the beach from the cottage. There may not be an established "path" but you can do it.

I couldn't disagree more. I certainly wouldn't recommend playing tennis but for beach activities it's great. We went for two weeks last July and had a great time. As another poster said if you get hot there is lots of water and AC around. Grab a Pina Colada and relax.
And OP. Take the 2 bed, your chances of getting the Cottage are close to zero.

great thanks, is there enough to do there for a week? or will we get bored?

During the summer, I can't imagine you would get bored! One of the special things that happens along the coast is the turtle laying and hatching. You should get the opportunity to go on one of the guided walks in the area. Find the VB lovers thread, they talk about a nearby beach, Bathtub beach, I think, that has excellent snorkeling right from the shore. I'm looking forward to doing that next summer.
