Hi all!!!!

Just found this thread, not read all of the pages, but just wanted to say I am excited to be going to Vero Beach, as we are just closing on a VB DVC contract, so hoping our first visit 'home' will be January 2010. We are going to WDW in November this year, but that was all booked before we purchased these points, so we will have to wait to visit our home resort!

I am sure we will stay at VB each time we fly over from the UK, either tagging it before or after a WDW stop. It looks so peaceful and different to WDW - which we love, but it will mean a great relaxing bit to the vacation as well!!!  :cheer2:

:thumbsup2 Welcome Home and Welcome to the DISboards!

In case any of you were wondering if your kids would love VB, here is a video of my niece from 2 weeks ago at Vero. It was her first time to see the ocean and she loved it!!! We loved VB and will definitely be going back in the future!

Great video. Thanks for sharing. Was she saying the water is cold? It probably was.
The water is actually colder now than it was in May due to what is called cold water upwelling that started in June. It was up to 81 degrees and today it was down to 76 at the Resort to 73 further south. Glad you enjoyed your stay!pirate:

That's just like me..... only I have a boogie board strapped to my arm :)

Thanks. I don't ever think about taking and posting video, but it sure is nice to see things like you're actually there.

Hey starbox... those were some nice chairs you got us for the swap.

:thumbsup2

Oh yes! I meant to say that those were the swap chairs as well. They were great! I have more video on my video camera, but I can't find the cord to put it on my computer. When I find it I'll post it. It is more of the beach rather than just my niece. :goodvibes

We have been to HHI a few times, but this is our 1st trip to VB (week of July 20th). We will be staying in a 1BR and I was looking for some building reccomendations. Any of them better than others in regards to view, convienence, etc?

Looking forward to the much needed vacation no matter what building, but may as well try to make the most of it! :)

Building 14 probably has the most view blocked by vegetation. It is also next to the pool. Both 12 & 15 have some pretty decent ocean views if your on the third floor. The resort is pretty compact and everything is convenient.

Krista....the video of your niece was adorable.............feel free to post any more video you have :)

I just re-joined my local Zoo and thought to check the list of reciprocal zoo's in the US. Brevard Zoo has reciprocal membership and they're only about 30 minutes from Vero. They also offer guided kayak tours for ages 5 and up for 6$.

Those of you with local zoo memberships may want to double-check your reciprocal zoo membership benefits to see if you have benefits at Brevard. :thumbsup2

Here's a longer video of Vero Beach. It's mostly of my family again, but I thought it could give some of you a Vero Beach fix!!!

Starbox....GREAT suggestion about the zoo. Thanks :thumbsup2

Krista...another fun video. Chad was hilarious diving into those waves :happytv:

I got some good news today ! I had to book 3 nights on cash back in June for a studio but had been on a waitlist for points. Got my letter from DVC today. Two of the nights came through for points so now it's only 1 night cash----and they linked the reservation so my ds doesn't have to move.

Just arrived home from a GREAT stay at VB!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks, for a perfect chair swap!!!!!!!!!!!! We somehow got three chairs but only needed two of them and two boogie boards. THe CM's knew right away and brought it up to us... Was there supposed to be an umbrella too??

I will post TR and pics. later this week!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks,, again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Kris... Can't believe our trip there this year has already come and gone. Noticed you all had some dinky waves too. Hmmm... You and Rob are pretty good with Halie.... Any plans for your own? :)

If we have a baby will we be able to afford to go to WDW and Vero still?!?! :rotfl: We are thinking maybe in another year. We are doing the Disney marathon, so we have to get that out of the way first.

Hi all, We just booked 3 days at Vero November 16th, 17th, and 18th. We have two girls 5 and 2. We are really looking forward to it. Can any one tell me how the weather is that time of year on the ocean?

Thanks.

Fantastic. Mid October to mid November is my favorite time of year. Hurricanes are almost surely gone. Temps are in the low to mid 80's and the ocean is still in the low to mid 70's.
