Hi all,

Has anyone ever stayed in a Studio Room (non-ocean view)? What was it like? We're trying to book a last-minute August trip and were told the only availability they had was non-ocean view. Do you think we'd still enjoy our trip? How far away is the beach from these rooms? Thanks for any info!

None of the Studios are garauteed Ocean Views. Who knows you might get lucky because there are a handfull that are! The only true difference in these rooms are that you cant see the Ocean they are all the same distance away from the ocean (approx less than 100 feet to ocean or pool). You will absolutely LOVE VB regardless of view, just read this post and you will see/feel the overwhelming enjoyment of the resort.

IMHO - GO FOR IT!!!!

Either is fine. I got my nickname (Mia) when I was very young. My little sister could never pronounce Maria---it came out Mia. So to this day, some family members still call me Mia.

I'm suprised you even could find anything this last minute. Congrats. We have a garden view Inn room booked for Aug too. I am also not sure what type of room view we'll get or if I should request anything in particular ? We've only stayed in Ocean View Inn room in the past. But I know we'll have a good time despite the room we get. Does anyone think a garden view on a higher floor would be better ?

I know! I was surprised too! We went ahead and booked the studio. Maybe I'll keep my fingers crossed for an upgrade to an ocean view once we arrive. Hey, a girl can dream, right?

I think so. That photo I took of the tree canopy view from the laundry room balcony was pretty nice. And the sunset photo in my first post on this thread came from the top floor of a villa building looking west.

So, how exactly does one go about requesting a particular room? We're not DVC owners, so I don't have the option to deal with MS. Also, does anyone know which Studio rooms have an ocean view? Thanks!

I'm assuming you booked through disney then kendallt ? If so, just call back and follow the voice cue to "modify an existing reservation". That should get you a CM and just put your request in with them. What are your exact dates Kendall ? I'll be happy to scout around for a room number for a studio with a glimpse of the ocean while I'm there if you plan on coming in after me---we checkout on Aug 19. But we'll have our laptop with us and I could upload some pics even. Just not sure of your dates.

Thanks Rob....I will request an upper floor for our garden view Inn room. I'll make sure I take pics and post photos too. My ds has a studio booked so I don't think we're making any special requests for that. He told me he doesn't really care (he's not particular at all).

We are extremely excited because we will be at VB 7/26 thru 8/1 and this is our first DVC vacation.

1) Does anyone know of an OVIR to request?

2) What is the best way to go about it?

dis@dills.....call MS or the main disney reservation # if you're not a Member and make your request.
We didn't have a direct, head-on ocean view (it was a pool view too), but we did have the added perk of having one of the corner L-shaped rooms which we loved. We were on the 3rd floor in OVIR # 2312.

Thank you, Maria! It sounds like part of our stays will overlap. We'll be there from August 15-17...probably not enough time for you to scout out a room for us, but thanks again anyway. Maybe we'll see you there! What are your dates?

Aug 11-19 We'll be real busy the first 4 days of that stay though. We're moving my dd into college and attending freshman family orientation at the campus (FL Tech). This is the only reason I didn't bother too much with booking an ocean view this trip. I figured save the points for another trip because we won't be in the room too much those first 4 days. See ya there !

Nope...don't think DisDayDreamer is....it's Florida....Atantic ocean.....there have been shark attacks at and near the Vero Beach area over the years. I think we all just need to keep our wits about us when we swim.

Ok Rob, I'm gonna 'splain the multi quote process like I tell my other director clients at my work site: "Beside each response are 3 icons on the right hand side of the post. Click on the middle icon with the eyeballs and plus sign on it which will say "multi quote". Click each middle icon in each post you wish to site. Then click on the reply button at the top of the last post (not in the post)....all of your posts will appear in your reply window. If you give me your computer name, I can remote desktop in and do it for you!

Mia, Mia, Mia.... I am a joker most of the time... The only time I am worried about sharks at VB is when I see a school of fish near me. Otherwise, I am more concerned about the jelly fish. To this day I have never seen a shark at VB... and have only been stung once by the jellyfish (PMOW) I won't explain that pain. Actually, the really bad pain didn't last more than an hour.
