Ok Rob, I'm gonna 'splain the multi quote process like I tell my other director clients at my work site: "Beside each response are 3 icons on the right hand side of the post. Click on the middle icon with the eyeballs and plus sign on it which will say "multi quote". Click each middle icon in each post you wish to site. Then click on the reply button at the top of the last post (not in the post)....all of your posts will appear in your reply window. If you give me your computer name, I can remote desktop in and do it for you!

I'm trying to do what you said, but it is not working..... Can you splain it again, but differently.... step by step again.

To this day I have never seen a shark at VB... and have only been stung once by the jellyfish (PMOW) I won't explain that pain. Actually, the really bad pain didn't last more than an hour.

A few questions to any of you that have been to DVC VBR before

Where is the nearest grocery store? Publix about 5 miles away

Any local outlet shopping? Yes, outside Vero Beach

Things to do in the area? Chill at the beach, Kayak tours

Things to avoid in the area?

Unique local dining establishments?

I played around in google maps a few months back and have one for VB. If you click on the pin or the listing you will get it's info or location. The red pin is the DVC resort. The shopping places are in green and restaurants of interest are in blue (IceCream in yellow!)

My experience with the PMOW was probably six or seven years ago. I felt a sting and it was like Owe... then it was like OWE! and just kept getting worse... you expect a sting, but when it kept getting worse I just started swimming away as fast as I could... I'm pretty sure I Mark Spitz would have been in awe. Long story made short.. the sting was actually very small and didn't leave a mark. No punn intended. I am much more attentive to my surrounding creatures now.

Sometimes I get out there and lose my awareness.... but these days I get it back real quick.

Just a quick note that we are back from 10 days at VB and are still loving this resort! Our BC was fantastic, and we had no issues with housekeeping and maintenance. Thanks for the chair swap Starbox!! CMs were friendly, enthusiastic, and caring as usual. Can't wait to go back next year.

Best part of the trip was watching hatchlings come out of their nest and head for the water. There were probably around 60 - 70 of them and by the time word had spread that they were coming out, people lined a path from the nest to the ocean and cheered them on one after another. What an incredible and rare experience for everyone there! It felt like the ultimate "dream" FP!!

There were probably around 60 - 70 of them and by the time word had spread that they were coming out, people lined a path from the nest to the ocean and cheered them on one after another. What an incredible and rare experience for everyone there! It felt like the ultimate "dream" FP!!

OMG ! What a wonderful experience this must have been ! Thanks so much for sharing. We'll be there on Aug 11. My 18 yo dd is going to FL to study marine biology. She would have just LOVED to have been witness to this. I've got goose bumps !

Glad you all had a great trip... Did the hatchlings emerge during the day?

It seems like the little loggerheads emerged around noon on a Monday. My poor photographic abilities do not do the scene justice, but here are a few pics.

First emerging from the nest:

Covered in sand but headed in the right direction!

Cleaned off by the first wave before off to sea.

Later that night we went on the CCC turtle walk and watched a loggerhead lay her eggs on the beach. What a day! We also did a deep sea fishing trip and saw a loggerhead swimming next to the boat. It seemed like the turtle trifecta!! VB continues to impress and be a favorite for our family

In regards to the turtles...can you see them right at Vero Beach in front of the resort, or do you have to go somewhere else. We will be there Oct. 10-Oct. 12. What will the turtles be doing then?

We're not going to plan too much that weekend...maybe a visit to the Manatee refuge.

The turtle hatching goes into October, but obviously most of the activity is over so your opportunities are waning by then. It is not unusual for there to be 15 or 20 nests right in front of the resort in the summer. Here is a pic taken from our Inn room in June of mom tracks to lay the nest and go back to the ocean.

DH and I will be at VB from 8/16/08 - 8/22/08. I've already ordered two chairs for pickup once I get to VB (very similar to what Starbox ordered for the chair swaps this year).

I don't plan to take these chairs home with me. Is anyone here on the DIS interested in using these chairs after 8/22/08?

WOW.....I'll be there during a time when quite a few of you all will be there ! Feel free to look me up if anyone wants to meet for a quick "hello". I'm Maria Sims (dh is Robert). We check in on Aug 11 and out on the 19th.

Ham Ham and jazmyin.....I was going to pass along the chairs to you guys. Looks like Ham Ham checks in first so I'll forward the chairs to them. Then Ham Ham, you'll forward to jazmyin. I doubt the umbrella is going to be in any kind of shape from the resports I've read. We'll see.
