For all you experienced VB members, if you stay in a one bedroom or two bedroom villa, do you have a view of the ocean or just of the sand dunes?

I called MS last night to see if they have an opening in the one bedroom for the week in August of our family vacation, which they do not. I am already on the waitlist, but I decided to call periodically to see if anything has opened up. When speaking to MS I was told it really doesn't matter which villa I would stay in for a one bedroom, none of the villas has ocean views. Is this true?

Thanks for your comments.:D

None of the villas other than the Beach Cottages have direct ocean views. However.....I have in my DVC notebook that there is a studio/one-bedroom lock-off which provides an ocean view. I got this info from a fellow DVC member several years ago but didn't write the room number down. Perhaps someone here knows the location of this unit/units??? In fact.....I've never heard of a studio/one-bedroom lock-off so I'm sorta mystified about my notes:confused:

We had a one bedroom (not a lockoff) in June. It was the last room on the side closed to the ocean. We had a beautiful view of the ocean on the balcony in the mornings eating breakfast!!! The funny thing....when we checked in at 1 pm I was visibly sick so the girl at the front desk said my assigned room was not ready yet but she had another one available. I inquired about the differing views and she told me neither had a view. So we took the one that was available. Much to our surprise we had a very NICE partial ocean view!!!!

Last August we had a one bedroom/lockoff. It was in the back of the first building as you make a left out of the rear door of the lobby. It was a partial ocean view. Ask for the upper floors and you'll be able to see over the dunes and cottage on the beach. This one was on the third floor. Sorry I don't remember the room number.

We had a 1 bdrm last May. It was on the third floor and had a great full ocean view. As a matter of fact, when we walked in the room we absolutely gasped. (Even my normally blase teenager). Housekeeping had opened all the drapes and we saw ocean out the front window, the side window and thru the balcony doors. It was awesome! Sorry, I don't remember the number, either, but I'll ask around the family and look thru last years files to see if I can find any records.

We stayed at vero beach last year and stayed at a one bedroom.
It was the building at the far end of the complex. We are going down to vero in april and I could look fo the building for you and e-mail the number of the room and building. JP:bounce:

Room 1427 is a 1BR non-smoking with a more than partial ocean view. Although there is aa 3BR beach house in front of it, you can easily see the ocean around it on both sides. We loved sitting on teh balconey and not only seeing the ocean, but hearing it's roar as well. The sweet salty smell of the ocean mingled with the light smell of citrus from the swollen ripe fruit in nearby groves. It was marvelous!

The room was also in excellent condition (but this was November, 2000)
